Just took out the slayer notice a squealing noise when it'd take off. Any ideas on what that can be? I don't remember if it did it before or not.

What is the trick to tuning these things? I went off the chart. Does it really have to idle for a min or would a good 30 second idle be alright. I can't get it to keep a idle for a min unless I give it some gas. Ill go through a tank of gas or two think I have a good tune go to start it the next day or something be all out of tune again.

Is there a better motor that I could put n there that would be easier to tune than the traxxas 3.3? Used most of my gas on tuning so far.

The squealing is not a good sound. look at the drive line for binding.

The chart is a good guideline for tuning. The time is approximately a minute.

There are several good motors for the Revo/Slayer. The OS .18 is a super little motor that has a slightly smaller displacement but is a rev-happy little thing. They are known for being relatively easy to tune and to hold a tune well. My favorite is the Picco .26 Maxx. All it really needs is a big block mount and a decent pipe and it will give you more power than you will ever want to admit. All of the EZ-Start assembly will fit.

I moved my gears up do you think they could be to tight or bad bearing? Could it also be the clutch having some problems with that before but seemed to be fixed except for that noise. Once got some speed couldnt hear it.

Well got the squealing noise stopped had my gears meshed to tight. Also seen where the gap for idle screw should be 1-2 mm or thickness of a credit card. So I cut up a old library card and tried to put it through my gap wow was way off. Took it out earlier was running good. I stripped the gear out on my steering servo so I'm on my way to get a new one now & give it another go.

Was fastest I've got it to start from taking it out to getting it to run.
