Hello all, long time reader first time poster.

My Savage 25 is only like a month old, I have only run 4-5 tanks through it, and already the dogbones are really squeaky, it sounds like a tank rolling by. What would be the best way to solve the squeak and not attract dirt into the dogbones. Also I have the stock suspension in the truck still, and the rear of the truck seems to sag a little. Should I be lifting the truck so the wheels don't touch the ground when I am not using it. I have read MANY of the treads on this site, and I did not see anyone else who was expierencing the same issues. Any help on the subject would be AWESOME... :shrug: Also what do you all think about the TSAIS Badboy exhaust? I am considering installing one, to keep the noise down a bit!

Only mod so far was waterproofing the electronics with CONDOMiniums :cheers:

I'm not any help but my max that i owend did the same thing back end always sagged and squeeked. I'm really not sure what to do to fix it. Ill keep looking to see if some one gives you a answer.
 
Thanx, I am still trying to figure this out, I have searched the net for the answer, and for the first time....I came up with nothing!
 
My savage has squeeked ever since it was new? Put some wd-40 or 3in1 on all the bearings that shuts mine up till its next bath.
 
Hey thanx, I can't believe how fast this forum replies....this rocks....when the truck is ready for a "bath" what do U recommend to lube the DB's
 
some white lithieum(sp) grease should do fine. just alittle dab on each end.

My savage has squeek ever since it was new too. Its not really a problem though. As for the suspension, just put a spacer in, that'll raise up the truck.
 
Check your rear shocks to make sure they still have their plastic spring retainers. One of mine popped off once and left my rear a little saggy.
 
yup all 4 are in, it's sags about a half an inch, truck still looks level, however if U lift the rear by hand (that sounded funny) it goes up about half an inch....I don't think it's much to worry about but still only a few tanks run through the engine, and ONLY on pavement so far no hard bashing at all, just seems funny that it would sag a half an inch already.
 
mine did it so i put some lithium grease in there and it stopped it BUT... and this is a big but... the grease attracts dirt particles which in turn wore out my dogbone cups WAY faster... my advise is to leave them as dry as possible... but if you absolutely can't live with teh squeeking go to a bicycle shop and pick up some white lightning chain lube... its a dry wax based lubricant that is designed not to attract particles... its kind of spendy but it is a great product.
 
Hey thanx for the tip I was thinking white grease at first, but anything wet or sticky will attract goobers in some crevase. I will have to check out the chain lube....the squeaking is annoying, I can hear it over the engine....It's like having a 71 Camaro with a 502 under the hood and a catback flowmaster exhaust, but U can still hear a squeeling fan belt. Ya it's not going to harm anything but after spending mucho dollars you don't want to be annoyed by something so simple. I was also thinking chaulk....that sometimes works for....well the fen belt on my Camaro, but then on second thought it's abrasive and will wear out small plastic pieces.

Hey savageguy, Sorry to hear about your "saggy" rear, it's most likely the weight distribution in the vehicle. After things get broke in a bit, the weight of the engine and fuel tank make the rear squat as opposed to the weight of the electronics in the front. As for the squeaky "bones", I pack a can of spray silicone lube in my pit bag for that reason alone. It sprays on with the little red tube like wd-40...perfect for getting into the ball cups without mess, and then dries out leaving a nice film of lube. Race On...
