Hi guys,

Just a quick question that'll be so easy for you to answer...

Spur Gear replacement, I have just purchased a new spur gear 38 tooth to replace the damaged one i have currently..

How tightly do i do up the nut that holds it on....??

Do I leave it so i can slip it manually with some force or is there another method to make sure this is tightened enough ...

Regards

Bristar

I've never changed one on the Revo but I've done a half dozen on the Tmaxx before. I'm just not sure how close the two is when comes to changing the spurs gears. Anyways, the Tmaxx gear you tighten the nut all the way down and then back it off a 1/4 turn. Hope it helps.

Now do youn know what the stock spur gear tooth number is by chance?

yeah, after consulting the Revo manual i can't catagorically state that the Stock Spur gear on the revo is 38 tooth Traxxas part NO. 3954

Hope that's helped ya...

Yes full tight and then about 1/4 turn back is a good base. You should be able to just barely turn it with you thumb with the truck planted.

Hey thanks :hi:

I've been wondering that for a while now. Just thinking of regearing the Revo and didn't know what the stock gearing is. Now I need to see some gearing charts.

I have one that is kinda primitive, sent it to MonkeyWrench and he spent all kinda of time cleaning it up and making it look pretty! Wanna copy? He sent something to either woodie or eddy and asked them to sticky it.

I didn't think on the revo you were supposed to tighten it down all the way and back it off like other slippers...

On the revo, you don't have to mess with the slipper to change the spur. You just take off the three bolts holding the spur on, wiggle it until it comes off, put the new spur on and replace the three bolts. That's all I did when I replaced my stock spur with a 40T spur. I haven't had to really mess with the slipper yet. I've tighted it about a half turn because it was slipping to much for my taste, but that's about it.

I've been wondering about that Olds. It looks like the slipper is seperated from the spur...like grabs on a shaft the spur rides on instead of graping the spur it self.

Anyways, MW my email is [email protected]

Thanks
Ray
