What combo number of teeth are you running for your spur and clutch gears?

Which would be best for a speed set up?

I have on a 49 spur and 15 clutch bell.

With a 49T spur,.....Is it the lower the chutch bell the faster you go or is it the higher the clutch bell the faster you go??

More teeth on the bell will give more speed, but you will lose some low end..Are you running the stock 25 engine? If you are, I would personally try the 16 or 17t combo. and see how you like it.

I'm running stock spur (52 I think) and a 16 cb. Currently, it's too stinking fast for me. I like low end torque more so than high end speed. I'm not running a stock engine though. I'm thinking of dropping the cb down a couple teeth.

If you are thinking about dropping down on clutch bells, you should check out the Racer's Edge Vented Clutch Bells. They are about half the price of the HPI or Ofna bells. Plus they even have a 12T clutch bell, for some really low end crazy torque. The HPI & Ofna bells only drop down to 13T.

I have used their 14T & 16T CB w/ great results. I have not tried their 12T or 13T, but I would assume that it is just as good as the others. The only thing I would be concerned about is if the 12T would mesh up w/ the spur gear. But since they are pretty cheap, I guess it really doesn't matter. You could scoop up the 12T & 13T for the price of one HPI 13T.

Anyway if you do drop down on CB (14T, 13T, 12T), make sure you switch out spur gears to the 52T # 76942. The only other thing you will need are some new ball bearings. The RE 14T & 13T take 5x10mm bearings, while the 12T needs 5x8mm bearings.

Later....

Thanks for the info. If I do drop down, it will probably be only to a 14. I have a 16 in it now, but I think it's working the engine a little hard for where I drive. (grass)

i run a 16-48 and the top end is insane i would recommend a 16-49,i would nt go with a 18 49 unless you got a killer mill cause you gonna burn the hell out of you clutch in the dirt or bashing

Go for 13T if you want wheelie!!! I tried the 13T, WHEELIE ANYWHERE EASILY with the S25.
