I'm pondering getting this engine for my savage because it seems to be a good race engine. From what I gather, it's based off the mach .26 (correct me if I'm wrong) So it should have a smooth powerband, and good bottom end and all. But, it has a few more rpms than the mach. And, I really like how it comes w/ the 3 carb limiters. And, the sportwerks has a composite carb as opposed to the mach's al. carb...

So, for those of you who bought the mayhem rtr's that came w/ this engine, does it have the good bottom end, and smooth power-band?

And, does anyone think that I shouldn't use this in my savage for racing? (large 225'x75' track)

Although I can't predict how this would run in a Sav, it does kick ass in my Mayhem. So far it has been reliable and runs strong. Makes good power at low temps. I really haven't had a big problem with it.

I'm not sure how it would work in the savage but its got alot of power....to me it lacks on the bottom end though and not really a smooth powerband, but at full throttle its a beast lol

well... my friend's shattered (the parts inside) after only 2 weeks of driving :( I don't know why, but sportwerks wont even take the engine back because it is past the warranty because the guy who he got his mayhem off of held it for a long time. (ebay) but it was new.????
