Ok i am in the process of spraying my new lid. I have been working on it the past few weekend. I have sprayed 2 medium coats of color change and its still practicaly clear and i only have 1/2 of bottle of paint left.
Is this normal?

Ok. So when i back it it changes?
Should i back it in black or silver?

I would say Black, as recommended... Yes, once the backing color is applied, the effect will be visible...

I used Blue & Purple.... lol

I faded from top to bottom with Faskolor Fasescent Blue & Fasescent Purple.. :D

My last question just shows that I have no knowledge about this "painting" I would just do a solid color and call it a day. I looks unbelievable man thanks for the great job!

Pierow, ya must be using a tranclucent color change huh?

Most of these color "Effects" type paints, need to be backed for them to really show what's going on... The first time I shot chrome, I didnt think it was coming out of my gun. I ended up laying it on so thick, it came out looking like dull aluminum..

When I sprayed the color changing paint, I could see it. It was a white to purple and white to blue, so it was easy to see. Thats why I was wondering if his was the translucent cuz he said it was practically clear. But yeah, It definatly has to be backed to get the whole effect.

I got it all done. First time with liquid mask and spazstix. Gun f'ed up me so spray was not consistent. I need a beter gun...

Just a tip, when using Spaz Stix, spray MANY light coats. I typically spray 4-6 coats depending on the color. Spaz Stix is awsome bit is very finnickey. You need to lay it down VERY even and in many layers. When you do, you get an awesome shine that I haven't foubd in any other paint. Here's an example:

The depth of the paint is unreal and pics won't do it justice. On this one, I scuffed the chrome to give the car a a "worn chrome" race effect.

i backed mine in black. and you can only really see it if the sun is shining directly on it. i would try backing it with spaz stix mirror chrome. next time I'm going to use the chrome mirrow spaz paint to back it with. the chrome will make it stand out in any light.

You also have to back the chrome with a water based paint such as faskolor.
I layed 5 even coats...it shines like the one in the pic.
