I got the maxx and the revo out on sunday and had em both running at the same time for once. Found that the 3.3 on the maxx was wearing out, and headed for the LHS. I bought all the goodies to rebuild it and did it in about an hour. Not bad for my first time eh ? the question is, i have only a hot glow plug (black.) Is it a bad idea to break it in with that?

I have used a medium to medium hot for 3 break ins and had no problems with them. I would say get a new plug and start fresh with a medium.

I wonder if they offer that just for the higher nitro fuel they sell. A hot plug generally works ok with 20% nitro on down to 10%. 25%+ generally requires a cooler plug to get combustion happening at the right time.

Hmm, maybe that's it.. I run 20% anyhow, and either seems to work fine for 20%
