Thanks guys, I was going to go to Mcculough's (sp?) and Hobbytown USA, but guess what?

Even though i cleaned it that well, and every spec of fuel was off, the airport wouldnt take it. So I had nothing to race with. So we went to Hobbytown (my friend with his ST-R, my brother with his TTR-S3), and they all raced 2 qualifiers and a main each. My bro let me race the first qual with his buggy even though I've never been to the track, just got there, whole different car and everything, because I fixed everything for him. The competition was a Ultra R2 and a X1-RTR (of course I won....), then the truggies were a CRT-RTR and a CRT, then my friends ST-R. He wouldve won every race, but his stupid knuckle and servo horn screws came out every time because he never locktited them. So, i was their pit man for the rest of the time. I was really sick though (still am), but it was still fun. I wish I had my car though :(.

Just some advice..When flying..All ways ship your R/Cs to your destination..
That way there is no hassles..

Are there any members here that work for TSA? I have noticed that what draws extra attention varies from airport to airport. For example, when I travel it is usually under military orders which I present at check in. Airlines, such as United, tell me that I am exempt from extra screening by TSA but I normally get the special treatment anyway. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, if thats what they feel they need to do to keep everyone safe I'll gladly put up with the extra hassle. I think what happened to you was miscommunication or misunderstanding between TSA requirements and the airline. If you would have shown up under a different shift they may have allowed your ride to fly. I'm not an expert on this so don't quote this as gospel. Zandor is right, next time ship it to a friend a couple of days before you fly.

At the airport security line they swabbed the heck out of my new Mammoth ST coming home from RCX. Since it was brand new and didn't see a drop of fuel, I had no problems bringing it on the plane.

Yeah, thats what I'm going to do now... I thought since so many people travel with their rc's, mine should get through also, guess not. It mightve been suspicious also because it was in a box instead of a luggage bag (i didnt have any more). Next time ill ship it. O well.

I've only flew once with my savage but i had it packed in one of those double teer toolboxes with wheels along with the charging wires & other pit tools......boy when they seen those wires & the 12v gellcell here comes security.....and did they ever ask the questions & did the fine tooth comb but got through anyhow.......i did have to empty out the half full fuel bottle though......i was flying from dallas texas to ohio to visit my sister & to race there.....

I'm going to sell all my tires and adapter and start all over. I'm converting to 2mm offset 17mm hubs, then offset 17mm CRT rims, then Maxx Bowties with Racers Edge Foams. The total will be around $100, but I could probably get that with all my tires with extra to spare. I can't wait :D

My friend has the Racers Edge foams with his maxx Crimefighters and they are amazing!
