Allright i got this kid whos been doing a lot of trash talking...now i really dont think he knows his way around the truck very well..after all i can't convince the kid that the trx 2.5 is really a .15 cause he seems to have it in his head that there bigger than .21..now i've never seen a .21 maxx run and mine isnt quite finished so i wouldnt know whats really faster cause i know with a .21 your adding a lot of extra weight so it pretty much even out but heres what i got against his stock 2.5.....Ofna hyper .21 8-port,ths racing pipe.....robinson racing steelFOC and steel gears....a really big airfilter for maximum air...also I'm running a 52 spur to 16cb....i feel kinda dumb asking this cause i pretty much know the answer but i should be able to blow his doors off right??thanks much appreciated..Joe

Ummm... yeah? I'm guessing your running 1/8 scale pitch spur/cb?

The 2.5 may have higher spec RPM's than a lot of 21's out there, but when it's in a truck, it doesn't have the power to use all those RPM's. A 21 on the other hand will use more of the RPM range because it has enough torque to get the truck up to speed.

If nothing else, you will take him off the line and even if you have the same top speed, he will never catch up since yours gets to top speed way faster than his.

just like olds said the .21 makes more torque so you will launch off the line leaving him behind unable to catch up.

just the poor kid cry.

as long as they accualy make it to the finish line without breaking....

:jk: yea you should punish him, just make sure you take the time to breaking and tune your mill correctly befor the big race.

4 wheelers are fun. I smoked this trash talking punk on his brand new four wheeler with my SINGLE SPEED Nitro MT.

Well race him and let us know ;)

I've see my far share of races were the undog won. You just never know until you do it.

Yep. It comes down to just takingthe lead and holding it.

I had a similar experience. My nieghbor has a NTC3 with a .15 OS mill. I took him easily with my RS4 SS 12 with the stock mill. I just shortened the shift point and once it hit second, i was gone. It was tie until then.

Next I am going to race him with my Neo One/lipo equipped TC4.

Speaking of racing 2.5's OR .15's anyone know how close is the Tmaxx 2.5 is to a Revo 2.5?

I ran my friend's Tmaxx a few times and smoked his Tmaxx with my Revo. This is with my front diff running with no oil and my rear diff running with a bad spider gear/pinion.

Ray, I have usually found it to be the other way around. The T hooked up faster and held off the Revo until the last bit. The Revo is a bit heavier and geared a bit farther apart. The two mills, if stock and original, are slightly different, with the Revo 2.5r mill being the more powerful.

It does boil down to the tune on the motor as well when going head to head.

watch out for those 2.5s they are fast. my buddy has a revo running the 33% nitro and it is fast. we can't touch him on top end and we have a Savage w/XTM24.7pro , a MGT w/LRP.28 and a Cybermaxx w/Mach.26 66t spur and 22t bell.

If u can't beat them take them out and get some satisfaction!

I could have swore the revo was lighter than a t-maxx. It feels lighter... and the engine seems to respond much better than the 2.5 that I had in my maxx, but that was 3 years ago. My memory isn't that great.

I can't find the spec weight on a t-maxx anywhere. Tower says the revo is 9.41lbs.

Off the line we would hang pretty good but after a few feet I would just loose him. Well if somoene has a 2.5 for a Tmaxx they really don't like, I'm looking for one ;)
