One of the tips he has here is how to convert a computer Power supply to a 12 V unit you can use on your bench to drive your battery charger. I haven't done it but from what I have read it should work just fine.
you can use a atx power supply to just jump the green wire and the second black wire from it on the axt plug (the big rectangle one) with a paperclip or bit of wire and it will come on.. again yellow =12v red = 5v and black is ground..

I have, and still have it. Best power supply I've ever made.
edit; however, his resister load is a little on the light side. I'll have to sit down and bang up a how-to on how I made mine. It outs 12/5.5v @ 7a. Just right for the average charging and lathe use.
those antec supplies are mainly for computers right? One of my friends has one, I may just have to borrow it for those days to the track...or see if my dad can get one since he works for the govt. and they pretty much give us any computer or computer thing we want for free!
