well after reading all these posts about the 2.5 not running good i finnaly decided to tell yall my story. just like everyone here i had alot of problems with my 2.5. wouldnt start right, would cut off at WOT, eat up plugs like there is no tom. and so on. well i barely found out a week ago a solution to most of my problems. that solution is getting the acncm head. OMG i am probally the happiest with my maxx as i have ever been. no more cutting out or having to tune every day. this might me different for others but this was my solution.

I've been saying that as long as I've had mine. The tuning issue with the 2.5 is not the carb, but a pitiful stock head. I also have the ACNCM Enormous.
I have no complaints about the engine. With a good head, it's very reliable.

I totally agree. I have also been trying to push people to getting a better head. Everyone that has done it, has had a solid engine since then.

I end up tuning or breaking in a lot of engines at the local track. As far as tuning, 90% are Tmaxx's with 2.5s. If they have the stock head, I tell them I'll get it running for the day, but I will not touch them again until they get a better head.
The Revo 2.5R is basically the same engine. Totally reliable. Anyone else wonder why it has a CNC machined head on it instead of a cast head?
Traxxas knows they made a lousy head. I can't believe they haven't changed it for the Tmaxx also.

if u look at the size of the 2.5 head compared to the ACNCM head, its like david and goliath.

I changed my T-Maxx head to the Revo style Powertune head before I broke it in. It runs as good as my Revo. Never stalls, idles smooth, easy to tune, crackles at high speed, starts easy once warm and is easy on the plugs. Yep, change your head if you have a T-Maxx.

when I got my ACNC Giant i thought it was for the wrong truck. I was so amazed at the size difference, but it has made all the difference in the world for me. Just make sure you do the zip tie thing and raise your body mounts or you'll mung up the head when you flip it like I did.

I tried a king head and it didn't do much better than the stock head. Don't waste your $ on King heads. It was milled really nice, but wasn't a whole lot larger than the stock head. It wasn't a whole lot bigger than the orion 18 head, but looked just about like it.

Herbieace, what do you mean by "do the zip tie thing "? I just got a ACNC Giant head and I don't want to scratch it all up now when I put it on.

Put zip ties On the top of the head.. Just pull the tie through the top slot and ZIPPP LOL So if you roll over it will hit the zips instead of the head  Put them all the wat around the top of the head

Thanks lol, I thought it was some more advanced application..... I'm a newbie to this so sorry for the stupid questions. :)

Does Anyone know an Online Stockist of the acncm T-maxx head that will ship to the UK ??

You could try and call Hisham at ACNCM and ask him. He's a pretty nice guy. He may ship it to you for a little extra fee. Or, he may know who supports international selling of his products.

He replies to emails fairly quickly. Check the website for contact info.

Hisham rocks!!!
He called me personally to amke sure I got my Giant because I had a suite number on the address. I'm sure He'll do it for you.

yea bought my acncm head from him off of ebay. REALLY FAST
