I tried scrubbing it with nail polish remover and it kind of worked, but not really and it would scratch the body if I did it any more. Do you soak the whole body in the stuff or scrub? I decided to put hot water in my sink and put the body in there and see if it would work, but nothing has happened yet and its been an hour. DOes it need to soak in there the whole day? All I have is hot water and nail polish remover to take the paint off. No brake fluid.

Success depends on what kind of paint you used and how long it's been on the shell. If it's been there for more than a few days, you'll have a lot of work ahead of you. Frankly, my opinion is that it's way less hassle to pony up the $$ for a new one rather than kill yourself trying to clean an old one. Besides, they never come quite clean enough. At least not the couple that I had to do.

I tried this whole bit with stripping a body and it's a royal pita. The body that i did ended up smokeing the plastic so it looked kinda retarded.lol well hell you should know the body that i had to do this on was yours.remeber the way it looked, well think about that and this is going to be the same outcome.

Well, the dude who i bought my MSR from painted it so its been on there for a month or so. And its plain white, so i thought, I'm not going to run it, might aswell put a sweet paintjob on it so its not useless. If it turns out like crap, o well. Should I scub it with a hard sponge or something? I've never done this before.

I had to use a sponge, but it scratches and turns out smokey,i tried chipping the paint and it didn't work,I used baking soda and a tooth brush,it worked pretty good but your guaranteed to have smoke tint.

I did it once, but the paint was poopy to begin with. I used this stuff called 'Oops!' LOL. I think it was similar to paint thinner, smelled like it anyway.

I did it in my basement and ended up high from the fuems, was not worth it in the end. I think I used a screwdrive and scrapped the paint off haha, I don't really remember.

I might try this stuff called E.L.O (Easy Lift Off) at my lhs in the paint section. I've heard it worked in the past. If this body fogs, o well, ill just paint it a solid color again.

^ thats good stuff. I've seen people use it on here before and have awesome results. I just havnt located a place to get some from yet.

Sweet, I just need to strip it and paint at least something cool on it. Ill post pics on how it turns out.

I have heard of people using brake fluid... I am not sure if this works but it could be worth a shot.

Well guys, i got the ELO a couple weeks ago and got to business. I whipped out the body, picked off all the hot glue (that was holding the cracks together, not much) and prepped for the attempt. MAKE SURE YOU WEAR GLOVES PEOPLE.

I started to pour it on the body and the paint started to kind of "bubble" a little bit which meant it was doing a good job already. Then I took the first swipe with a rag and i was AMAZED at how well this stuff works!!! Came right off like i just painted it it on!!! I did two different sessions with the ELO because I was basically spreading paint around and it was getting in my way. The next time Everything just came right off and I was able to get a clean surface. I had to do the outside also, because there is no way to keep from getting paint/elo on the outside even if you try not to. Heres how it turned out! :D

There is NO SIGN of paint ANYWHERE. I searched the entire body! The only visible marks are scuffs on the body from when it was hit!

I'm really happy with this product and will continue to use it anytime I have an opportunity to turn a dull 1 color paintjob into a masterpiece! (New paintjob coming soon, i ran out of mask and I'm waiting for payment on a couple of bodies to buy a thing of BD's mask).

Sweet! Whered ya find Elo? I've looked at a few of my Hardware store type places and they look at me like I'm retarded when I ask if they have it.

I heard that was good stuff and doesn't fog the bodies like some other removers will. Be sure to post up some pics of the new paintjob.

They had it in the paint section at my lhs near the thinners.

Of course! :)

Nail polish remover and acetone will cloud a body.
ELO is the way to go. I use it all the time.
