Anybody here into snow skiing? I used to be really big on it, and now only go once or twice a year, and not at all last year. We got a little bit of snow here last Sat. night, and they are calling for 3-6", or 4-12" (depending on which channel you watch) between today, and tomarrow. Man, I got to get to the slops soon!

I love skiing! Before I moved to cali I was a ski-patrol at my local mountain, great fun. Now that I've moved back I don't really have time to patrol, but I plan on hitting the slopes hard this year.

Our 2 local mountains are have been open for a week now, and conditions are great. I use atomic skiies, rossignol snoboard, and solomon mini skiies (twin tipped about 2.5 ft long). Its great fun.

I'm into Skiing too. Every Febuary my family and I take a trip to Sunday River Ski Resort in Maine and stay there for a week in our friends condo. They just put in a pool there which is awsome!

I'm getting new Skis for x-mas this year too. :D

Been skiing for 23 years. Spent many of cold and or wet days in NY on a hill thats is about 500 feet oh boy. Moved out west and now ski stuff about 7000 feet. I use to alpin ski but the last 5 years I just telemark. Last year I got 78 days in and this year I am looking at more so I hope. I spend a good deal of my time out of the resorts in the backcountry because of the price and no people around but do get to the areas a few times.

Snowshoe in WV is fun. Just need to have good snow. How far from Buffalo are you? I started at Holiday Vally and Kissing Bridge. I would check out HV if it's not too far. Not the best place but fun. If you ever make it out to UT let me know I can show you around.

My father was a champion ski jumper in Norway, and he taught me how to ski on his 7 foot jumping skis when I was about 8. At 12, I finally got a pair I could actually control, and I loved it.
Later in life, I couldn't go through a winter without hitting the upstate mountains of New York or Vermont for a week or two.
At 19, I got my back pretty messed up in a car wreck, but wouldn't quit skiing, but just cut back on some of the crazy stuff.
One year, at Stratton Mountain in Vermont, I pushed my luck and took a really bad spill. When I got my breath back, I laid on my back and took inventory of all my moving parts. Everything still worked. I put my skis over my shoulder and walked the rest of the way down to the lodge, and never put them on again.
I still have them, and it still saddens me to look at them, knowing that I can't ever do it again.
Anyone interested in buying a pair of Rosignols?

I think Buffalo is about 6 hrs. I live in the Columbus area. If I get to go I will try to go north to HV if I can, because I have family in Kent, Ohio that I could visit. Kent is in the Akron/Canton area, and it could easily be on the way. Or, more likeley on the way back. Save money on a hotel room, and I'll be to excited to stop on the way there.

HV is in New York? I thought it was Penn.
