Hey I’m looking to upgrade my smt10 to a 3s-4sbrushless system any advice on motor and esc setup and also other parts to upgrade along the way would be great I’ve heard people say putting brushless motors in these trucks will break a lot of parts but I’ve also seen some really good setups any advice appreciated

I had a cheap goolrc system in mine. I kept breaking axle housings and steering knuckles. I also twisted the stock suspension links and destroyed the driveshafts. I upgraded to parts off of Amazon and haven't had issues since. I went with aluminum adjustable driveshafts and aluminum links. I keep replacing stock housings but that can be eliminated by using the axle tube inserts by beef tubes. I've also bent quite a few of the axle internal shafts. Just my opinion but I gave up on my smt10. I've shied away from axial since and it now sits broken and hated. I've had nothing but issues with it since new straight out of the box.

Yea I’ve had some issues with mine already too same day I got it broke the servo saver fixed that then snapped the steering links I’m honestly debating selling this and getting an lmt10 my current issue that’s bothering me is I have no brakes like I used to I’ll get on the throttle and go to brake and it just goes into reverse

You may have to recalibrate your esc. Depending on which one you have there's a couple ways to do it. You may need a program card or connect to castle link if it's a castle esc. If it's traxxas it could be as simple as getting into the programming by using the set or on off button. These are guesses as I don't know what your running
In my opinion for my monster trucks I just went to clodbusters and haven't had any issues. One is box stock on 2s and it's great and the other is running a hobbywing 880 dual brushed setup with aarma 12 turns and on 2s and no issues. They are surprisingly quick for brushed and only 2s. Anything more on those and it would fry the motors. I have a third I'm going to be building into a brushless beast.
