My friend has a T-Maxx and shortly after breaking it in, he burned out the steering servo. He went to the LHS and they only had the 2075 servo, which is the high torque water proof servo, but his steering response has basically gone away. We checked the screws on the servo horn and the place where the servo arm can turn without damaging(servo saver?). We also checked the steering blocks, and they are loose with very little play in the wheel. Any other ideas?

By steering Blocks, I assume you mean that the pillow balls are not too tight. But, does the TMAXX run off of 4 AA batteries or does it have a 6v battery pack? Either way, the batteries may be dead. If the maxx has the 4 AA setups, i suggest getting a 6v battery pack. They last MUCH longer.

:goodpost:

It should be illegal for trx to sell people a monster truck with a 4 aa setup. It just doesn't work for crap. But I guess if the batteries die and your rig runs into a wall at 40 mph then it's more money in their pockets when you're buying bulkheads, pins, axle carriers and a-arms. I would suggest getting a 5 cell hump pack if you don't already have one.

I kind of think the Tmaxx was a trial and error rig for traxxas, it seems like none of those flaws exist with the revo

that rig basically saved the RC nitro world from extinction boy respect yore elders...haha.... the maxx is definately an older design but it's not a total P.O.S. I've had more of them than any other rig I've owned..
I will third the vote on th batt pack...the 4aa setup might last a few tanks or about 45 mins of tinkering and leaving your Rx/servos on

I own a tmaxx also.. They do however need the upgrades to be a more reliable rig, as opposed to a revo thats bascially tough right out of the box. I do like the tmaxx though.

I haven't talked to him yet, but thanks for all the input. It sounds like Traxxas made a mistake putting out an MT without a rechargeable pack
