Ok when i start my t-maxx and give it gas the spur winds way up and spins really fast but the truck does not go anywhere. At half throttle it finally engages but the engine is wound way up and at full the truck is only going 5 mph. I know its nots not my diffs. Anyone have this similar problem or know how to fix?

Is the shaft the spur is sitting on spinning with it? If so, you probably have a tranny problem. If not, tighten the spur nut down all the way(until the spring is fully compressed) then back it off 1/4 turn.

If it's not that and you know it's not your diff's, it's more than likely a burned up gear or one-way bearing inside the trans.

I dont think its the clutch shoes because the cb engages perfectly. I will go and check your idea olds.

Heres the scoop. I tightened rthe slpper like you told me to and nothing changed. When i spin the spur the shaft the comes out of the back of the tranny right above the brake disc also spins. Anymore ides?

Sounds like tranny trouble! You need to take the tranny off and apart to take a look see.

I took the tranny aprt and no sign of stripped gears. I will double check diffs and order foc.

I've been looking to upgrade from the trx 2.5 after months of reading reviewes checking prices and reading every ones opinion about motors and pipes, (sirio, wasp, picco, xtm, os, read all the reviews) I finally decided on sirio .18 and BB pipe as it seemed to be what every one here reffered to as the best .18, I spent the better part of yesterday installing it and breaking it in, I now understand what everyone meant by "it really screams" and it does the increased power and speed is incredible... anyone if its ever been dynoed? curious about the true hp.

my point is after a few tanks today it seemed the clutch shoes were slipping, so I took them off and took some sand paper to them and the CB, after reinstalling them I had the exact same prob as Bandit, motor reved way up and the truck was barely moving after making sure I didn’t break any shafts I tried again and same thing, I figured I blew out a gear in the tranny since I have the steel spur, took the tranny apart (already have the FOC by the way) and everything was fine the one way bering was locking and all the gears and shafts were fine, after checking the clutch shoes and bell again I put "humpty" back together and tried again, at first the same thing motor reved way up but the truck moved slowly like something was slipping, but after a few minutes of reving up the motor, truck very slowly started moving a bit faster and faster and now its fine, engages the gear every time,

I have never experienced this before, I wouldn’t call my self an expert but I've had my max for almost a year and I know my way around it pretty well, I’m pretty sure what ever was wrong didn’t have anything to do with the sirio, or did it?

has anyone ever had this happen or heard of this happening? bandit did you figuer out that the problem is on your end?

by the way I’ve been reading threads here ever since I got my max, I’ve learned a lot and got some great advise from everyone, especially olds, so to all thanks.

Did you check the internal one way? Is it biting ok? I know I had one slipping at one point that did what you described.

Currently, it's my clutch that's slipping. In your original email though, you said the spur was spinning and the shaft that's it's on is spinning... so it doesn't really make sense that it's the actual engine clutch.

You also my want to check the pins that hold the gears on the shaft. Maybe one is sheared off that you can't see. I beleive there is one pin on the two speed top gear shaft and the two speed assembly shaft. If one of those is sheared off, with enough RPM's it will move, but not very well. Try backing those screw/pins out and see if they are ok as well.

Also, I know you were pretty sure the diffs aren't toast, but maybe one of your set screws for a diff is gone. Check all axles for all screw/pins that connect them to steel. Basically, put your foot on the truck and step on it, then pull the throttle. Watch the axles. If your axles (center and wheel axles) are spinning, you may be able to trouble shoot your problem down to a non-trani issue. Hell, maybe your wheel hex's are rounded off or a pin that holds the wheel hex nut is sheared...

There's lots of things that break on the maxx driveline. Basically, you need to rule things out by process of elimination. Something somewhere is slipping or broke.

Remember, it only takes one wheel on each end to have a problem for the whole truck to not move. If there is something wrong in the rear, a Front wheel drive truck doesn't move worth a crap... you may just have something blow in the rear driveline.

I will check the pins in 2 weeks and continue to work and run it more and more like that. weeks because my parents are divorced and my maxx is at my dadsand i live with my mom during school and every other weekend. I hope i fix it!
