Slipper Clutch

I am going to have to get a upgrade because today my slipper clutch the teeth on the gears basically stripped out. I have no clue on how it did this but now i have to get a new Spur Gear.

Loose engine or trans, cracked engine mount, bad clutch bearings or simply bad gear mesh could cause this.

How could i check if i have a bad clutch bearing? Also bad gear mesh what exactly is that?

I still have to buy a new spur gear because the one i got now the teeth on the gear stripped out :(

Gear mesh is how the spur and pinion fit together. Put a piece of printer paper between the gears, slide your engine over snug and tighten the engine down. Bad bearings will feel gritty or have play in them.

I just checked out that robinsons racing slipper and spur gear. That thing looks to be bade azz!!!

But pricey!

Clutch bell bearings should roll smooth & roll for a good bit when the clutch bell is spun by hand & not engaged(meshed) with the spur gear.

AvidRC has most bearings for $1 each & good quality too, it makes it cheap to keep extras on hand.

CB bearings are one area I change at the first sign of roughness.:)

Yeah i was looking at the robinsons racing stuff they are kind of pricey but i might have to get that..

I also had just put my trany back in because i had it out, I could of not aligned it good and cause this to happen. That is what i am thinking the mesh was off from me removing the trany

i stripped a spur today. but i just put motor back in previous and dont think i done the mount up tight enough. i flipped the truck and landed on its lid. i think that pushed the motor down and killed my mesh and spur just ate itself for lunch.

I got a new Spur today and i basically ruined it. The inside around were the friction pegs go melted. I have no clue how because i had friction pegs in there and i thought i had the Spur Gear tighten good.

So now i am going to go with the Robinson Spur gear because i don't wont to keep having to buy spur gears.
