I have a 3.3 and it's been running really good. Yesterday I noticed it did not seem like it was reaching full speed and seemed to "bog down" almost. Eventually it did "bog down" and would not do anything when I gave it gas. After looking it over I noticed one of the pads had come off of the slipper clutch. So it seemed VERY easy to fix and did so. Even ran it after and it did great. Today not so much......while starting it, it wants to roll foward. And, now I've noticed the Spur gear does not have the free spin in the one direction that it did when I first got it. I've tried to loosen the nut on the Spur gear, but that hasn't helped. Anyone have any ideas???? Thanks in advance for the help.

yep id say your clutch is the issue. take the engine out and see what shape the clutch is in.

Clutches are cheap enough, to just get a new one, cuz your never going to get the same results as you did before somthing went wrong with the old ones.

check the clutches and clutch spring that are on the motor it sounds kinda like the spring broke.

hey you were right on the money with that one. when i took it apart i could see that i just did break the tip off of the spring. so using a pair of needle nose pliars i was able to fix it. maybe not to standard but it works. where can i find a replacement spring?

so once i got it all back together i ran it for a few minutes and it was really doing well then i noticed it was "boging down" AGAIN! looking it over i saw that i lost yet another slipper clutch pad. so i replaced it and this time made sure to tighten the spur down a bit more. after the second run it did good but still not hitting top speed like i'd like. and it almost seems to "rev" high once i let of the throttle. anyone know just how much to tighten that thing without doing damage to something else?

i'm not completly sure for a maxx ass for i never owned one but i think your supposed to tighten it all the way down then back it off a quarter turn....thats what i do on my mgt8.0 anyway

Hey Thanks! I'm quite new at this, so any help is good help. Most of you guys on here have been right on with tips and trouble shooting. I found the clutch spring i was looking for. Also found the Integy 3 piece upgrade. Anyone know if it's any good? Again thanks for all of your help.

no problem....i'm not sure what there clutch is like but i know that most other integy parts are crap so i don't think i would recomend there clutch...i've never owned anything by integy so i don't really know though

I ran the integy clutch on my pulling truck. i loved them. huge improvement.

well, i've kind of heard it go both ways on here with Integy. i had already purchased the susp. upgrade when i saw that a lot of people seemed to have trouble with them. but so far so good. i've bashed the hell out of this thing here in iraq and the susp. is still holding up. "knock on wood".....i'm going to go ahead and get the stock clutch and the Integy i think. trial and error, right? if anyone knows of any other brands that have a good rep., please let me know.

I run the Integy 3-shoe clutch on my Maxx. It runs well, although I have the shoes on backwards (the pin follows the shoe) for extra grip.

My only problem is they don't seem to last as long as you'd think an aluminum show would last.
