Slipper Clutch Carnage!!!

I finished putting in all the RRP gears and FOC and went with the 16 40 RRP spur and clutch bell. Everything was running great and then....WEEEEEEEEEE, weeee,weeeee. The clutch pads made a quick exit and the pressure plate is toast. I thought I had it adjusted properly!

I have had lots of slipper clutchs back off on me before. Now I ensure I use a dab of blue lock tight, even with a new lock nut.

anytime I toast a slipper I upgrade to the hd slipper set , can't go wrong plus you get a new nut which is a must

I constantly had that problem with mine also. Even if i tighten it up all the way it backs off...

Maybe a little blue Loctite would help?

Thought I would add this today. The guy I got the Revo from only took out some of the gears for the FOC so my Revo failed today and stripped out this gear. When I opened up the trans, I am still confused as to what he did but at least the main gears were not affected. So I ordered the correct FOC from traxxas today.

Why not ditch the 3 slipper pads altogether?

Get a 4910 T maxx brake disc(#4964), enlarge the holes a little till they line up to the pad pegs & no more slinging slipper pads.

It's what I'm going to do on my BB Thunders, I saw this mod on an BL Revo, if it will hold up to 6S & the 1717 Castle it will do a BB nitro good to!
