Slightly confused which way these rod ends should face.

Included with these were buttonhead screws, however if you notice in the first picture I have attached, there is a slight chamfer there. 2nd pic shows the other end is more robust. Now I'm wondering which way it should go and if I should use countersunk machine screws, which do fit pretty nice.

When I get linkages with pivot balls that are longer on one side than the other side I usually mount them in whatever orientation gives them the most freedom to move without getting bound up. That generally means the longer side of the pivot ball toward the car part that it attaches to.
