I picked up the two Slashes that I ordered on Friday from my LHS, and man are these trucks huge! I had to check the box to make sure they were 1/10 scale! I swear the body could fit on an 1/8th scale. I can hardly wait until Christmas to get here now. My stepson is going to be so happy! It looks like it wil be an easy truck to work on too, so hopefuly I can start teaching him to wrench on them. Since both trucks were the same color I picked up a Proline Hardcore lid for mine and I ordered a set of the Proline Switch tires and beadlocks. If they are any good I will order some for my son too. This is going to be sweet!

There was a guy beating about with a Slash at the GBModels crawler comp yesterday. I was really impressed with it as a package, fast, so well balanced for a rear-drive truck, and looked really cool. They are huge though, they don't look it in pictures, but they are properly a foot wide!

Congrats on the new rigs Tom. I agree the bodies are much bigger than 1/10 scale. I had mine sitting next to my 1/8 truggy and they were the same length...the Slash was a couple inches wider too.

Have fun with them.

Congrats man, I did a solid paint job on one of the slash bodies, and it looks really realy good.

Thanks Guys. I will try and snap a few pictures in the next couple of days. I have to make sure my son is not around when I do. As much as I want to give it to him now... I have to keep it a surprise. It is going to be a long couple of months till X-mas!

Anybody know if there are any upgrades to the steering linkage on this truck yet?

I've bashed the piss out of mine, and there have been no steering problems. Landed on the front wheel sideways before, and it is still going strong.

Well that makes me feel a bit better. It didn't look all that substancial. I have upgraded all the toe links and turnbuckles to the traxxas red aluminum and was going to do the same for the steering linkage. I can't wait to take this truck for a spin!

What i really like, is hot the suspension causes the wheels to tuck into the wells of the body, thus adding 10x more protection.

Seriously...

Here are some pics. The trucks are still in the plastic... and will stay that way until Christmas... I can hardly wait! I do have to take them out one evening after my son goes to sleep so that I can install the recivers, and solder on the Deans connectors. That will be a fun night. I just might have to throw a pack in mine... you know.. just to make sure it works! The LHS called today... my Proline Beadlocks are in! Woot! One truck is Blue and White the other is Blue and Sliver, although I will have a green and white Proline Hardcore lid soon. Have a great evening guys!
