ANYONE KNOW if your can convert the turbo buttonhead to a normal buttonhead on the trinity sirio .21 br? i have this motor as a spare and would be nice to have a normal plug buttonhead for it.
 
I dunno about sirio, but I know novarossi has a separate thing for where the glow plug screws into, and the cooling head. They might have something for the glow plug that a normal one...did that make sense?

Anyhow, i'd question how well the thing would run without a turbo plug...but then again, what's the real difference between a normal plug and a turbo plug other than shape?
 
ya thats called a button head you are talking about, and i dont know about perfomance, its just would be nice to have both motors with normal plugs..

From what I can attest to it really comes down to a little more RPM's at the top end for turbo plugs.
 
ya just found the part #'s, but when ya add it to shopping cart it says it a turbo, so i emailed trinity to see whats up..


reason i want a normal plug is my ws7II used normal plugs, so when/if i need to use the sirio it would be nice to have the same plugs all around.. That motor (sirio) is more than fast enough to lose a few rpms

Most big races will not let you run a turbo plug in a buggy. It is ok on most club or local races (from what I have seen).

I have been looking at this engine also, can you post how it runs with the change.

ALL sacuned(sp?) races, or at least ROAR, IFMAR,, NORRCA and RC pro Series allow turbo heads on offroad .21 buggies. Infact .21 buggies are the only place turbo plugs are allowed in racing from what I understand. What "big" races don't allow them? If I am mistaken please correct me but this was my understanding.

ROAR 6-8 turbo glow pluga are only allowed in .15 open and .21 Open engines. R/C Pro Series: say no so you are right there as quoted from their rules: 69: No turbo plug motors or turbo glow plugs are allowed in any vehicle.

It does make it nice that they make button you can just switch out then, if you race in different leagues. It just takes 2 minutes to switch a button out, kinda nice if you ask me. Good info shelprock30.
