somoen told me to rig up a heater for the glow plug. cuz Its a common trick to keep the plug warm in snow conditions.

They said rig up a micro switch to a 2v battery so when its at idle it keeps the plug lit.

anybody do this? or have thoughts

It doesn't die on me all the time but It does now and then.

Thanks

Did you check to see if you need to change the air to fuel ratio? Maybe because the air is soo thin? Check it out.

shouldnt need a "heater" - never heard of that..

You will have to run it richer when its colder out then when u run it when its 70-80 out (cold air is denser then warm air - reasons why hot air ballons float :D ).. sounds more like a tuning issue..

Sounds good to me. Same reasons you'd go up on jet size on a carbed car in cold weather or why there is chokes on carbs.

What are you running for a plug also?

I wa sjust going by what he was saying to keep plugs in a sirio hot. He said they are known to cool off real quick in snow.

shrug. I've never played with a nnitro in snow. So its all new to me. I had a srs4 befor this maxx and only used it in summer.

Yep, that'd be me. :w00t:

Shouldn't need a heater for the plug, just richen the fuel setting a bit and should be good to throw some snow.

cool...... I see you just registered here. How you find the place?

Found the place awhile back when someone here made a purchase from my Ebay store, registered then and forgot about it. Bored today, seeing your post on the 3rdgen boards amde me take alook again, I had to re-register.

hehe cool. So you think ceramic coating the header will help any?
what about if I thermal coat my piston and do a dryfilm lube on the side.lol.

I dont think it would be a noticable diff but Hey I have the stuff to do it why not.

Yes you MUST increase your fuel air mixture for exactly the reasons described above. If not you are actually running very lean and can damage your engine. If you have a temp quage check that your temps done go over 270-280

I'll faten it up some when It dropes to the 20-30's again and see. Its nice out today 49* I'm about to head out and run it some and see how she acts.

I donot have a temp gun , Maybe I'll pick one up with in the next few days. I just make sure I see some smoke right now so I know its not running to lean..
