If your going to remove the twin 2055's and replace with a single servo setup, you will need several things. Below is a list I compiled of what I use on my Revo..

1. A more powerful and if prefered, faster servo. Recommendations include:
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHZR9&P=7
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXNRN6&P=7
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXTT13&P=ML
and many more. Research and and find a servo that best suits you (analog, digital, torque, speed, weight, current draw, programmability, etc.

2. A single servo steering arm. Most widely used other than modifiing stock is this one..

3. A heavy duty servo saver spring recommended for single steering servo applications..

4. And if you want a tighter steering radius, here is the Slayden Steering Mod..

This should help get you started in the right direction!

I just saw that this post was from a couple weeks ago! I guess I need to pay attention more...:ahem:

thanks for the very dteailed answer appreciate it alot, dont matter if you were a little late , i havent done it yet.

Just an FYI, all the servos listed are great servos but IMO are a bit overkill for the revo. I'm running a hitec 985MG and it throws the tires around without a problem (60 degrees @ .13 sec, 172oz). It's a bit cheaper, but it's a nice servo as well. It's well sealed with o-rings on the screws, case top and bottom and the output shaft.

That CS-170 would make a nice upgrade for my aftershock though... Thanks for the links Smokin. I never noticed that one.

ya i found they were abit expensive too , i was always looking at the 985 also , i was thinking of getting the battery mount from aces also , looks cool, hopefully i can find one cheap on ebay or somewhere

You are right olds97_lss. Most if not all of those are overkill.

I run 40 series w/ Big Joe's and my truck weighs in at around 10lbs so the little extra "umph" is nice. I also have an all digital radio platform so I need digital servos. Currently I have the HS-5955TG (steering) & HS-5996TG (throttle). Both maneuver & control my beast with ease but race oriented Revos could benefit from "smaller" servos both in terms of performance and budget.

Nicholas655, The Hitec HS-945MG is plenty servo for throttle/brake. At 6V, it pulls 153oz @ .12sec so it's a champ for this application!

At .12 sec, it might be a bit too fast. It will make the revo feel twitchy when running at any speed over a crawl.

I noticed my revo feels pretty twitchy with the 985MG. It's a bit slower at .13. I kind of had to re-learn how to drive and I had to adjust my Dual rate down to 70% to limit my overall servo movement. That helped quite a bit. It also made me aware that the tires I had were horrible for the conditions.

I know exactly what you speak of. My HS-5996TG pulls 110oz @ .10sec so I did the same thing you did by adjusting my throttle/brake curves & punch until I learned to compensate. The throttle/brake response (as long as carefully exercise trigger movement) is now exceptional. After thorough Revo handling re-training classes all is well but I wouldn't go any faster.
