I am looking at getting a Hitec 645MG servo for my steering. How well will it hold up? I am putting a Tower hobbys order together since they still have the sale going on but they dont have the 945mg in stock, so I thought about getting the 645mg.

What are your opions on this? I really dont want to spend alot of money on the servo right now but I think one of my servos went bad on the Revo this weekend so I need to get something right now.

Honestly if I were you I wouldn't waste my money on the 645, if you were going to spend 72 on the 945 I would spend the extra 25 on the airtronics 94358. You get a servo that is twice as fast and almost twice as strong. I've had mine for 8-9 gallons and its still going strong.

Spend the money now, and you won't be kicking yourself later. The 645 is very slow and not very strong. Just my opinion.

If your interested I could prob find one for around $60 that has been refurbished by airtronics. Let me know.

i have the 945 on the throttle and the 358 on the steering.you can't go wrong.

yeah mate best you get the 945 if your not up for shelling out on a servo right now you might aswell try pick up a dirt cheap stock servo of ebay and run the two till your ready to get a decent one could work out cheaper in the long run

The 358 is my favorite servo. All 5 of my MT's and my buggy have one for the steering servo.

If you are going through the trouble of changing out your servo, you should also consider doing Slayden's steering mods to gain more throw.

Well, I'll go against the grain. I have the 645 in mine and did the Slayden mod (which, if you are going to go single servo, the only way to get the real benefit is to do the mod). I like the 645 for the price, and when I did my mod they didn't have the 945 out yet, but the 645 does what I want and need it to.

That being said, if you HAVE the cash for the 945 or the Airtronics one, I'd go with either. I'm just waiting for the 645 to bite it.

Well I think it might be a false alarm with the servo issue, I checked a few BASIC things I found the problem.

I do want to convert to the single servo soon so this thread will help me greatly.

Thanks for the responses!

You are aware that you will get longer run times by going to a single servo? You may want to do it sooner than you think.

plopped my 9000T in there, never have looked back hehe.

question though. is the steering link reversible? or do i have to go buy another 1 or the proline piece. i ask b/c my servo is passenger side right now, and that tekno job forces 1 to move servo over to driver's. any1?
