I'm trying to setup my sidewinder in my crawler and I can't get it to calibrate to my radio. I hold the throttle all the way and tehn turn on the ESC and then it beeps in a cascading tone with all three lights, then it just blinks green and yellow and never goes to red like its supposed to. any ideas?

What radio and receiver are you using with it? You'll want to mke sure that the throttle trim is set at nuetral including any subtrim if your Tx has that also. It might help it you increase the arming time a little in castle links software. I had to increase it a little so my dx3r would be recognized with one of my MM. You could also try to switch throttle for Normal to reverse or vice versa to see if you get any response. Is the steering serov working?

your holding the throttle all the way on? leave it in nuetral and turn the esc on the it should work, dont hold the throttle on. if it doesn't work while in complete neutral then slowly adjust your throttle trim.

I'm using the DX3R. Ill try leaving it in neutral again but nothing on it is working except the steering servo. and that works as long as the battery is hooked up.

ok, I think i found my problem, but I'm still comfused.

I have three connectors that need a home in the reciever. the steering, wich is working. one plug coming strait from the ESC. and one coming from the battery leads on the esc that is attached to the bec. wich one goes where in the sr3000 reciever? obviously the steering goes in steering. but i still have aux, throttle, and bat/tel.

the esc goes on the 2nd channel and the bec goes in the battery spot.

make sure your plugs are facing the right way.

I tried them both ways. ok, I dont have CH1/ CH2. I have aux, thr, str, bat/tel. I'm assuming that the esc should be in thr. right now I have the aux port open, the esc in the thr the servo in the str (wich is working) and the bec in the bat/tel

thats right. does it just do the first set of beeps and nothing more? if so then just slowly adjust your throttle trim. if you steering is working then make sure your other two plugs are facing the same way as the steering plug.

firstset of beeps when it turns on, then just blinks green and yellow. And I just pushed the trim all the way up and down, still nothing. I got this esc off of FLM and the red wire isnt attached to the plug, but it looks like it was intentionally done, it has shrink tube on it like it came from teh factory that way. might this be the cause?

no, you have to have that wire unhooked to run an external bec. i think its just fine but you have to keep messing with your trim slowly and hopefully that will work. Is your motor wired good?

yeah, I think so... but I'm not getting anything at all even for calibrating it to my radio. or do I need to calibrate it considering its used? and I've gone up and down through the trim slowly a couple of times and I still get nothing.

just check your connections again and keep fiddling with it, its bound to work, if your getting the first set of beeps then thats good, its when you get none that its no good lol. Did you adjust anything via the computer?

i dont have the link. and like I said before it was used. So somthing may be screwy in the programming.

ill see if i can't get it to work soon. ugh, this stuff is aggravating!

pm flm, he might of had it set on brushless and that would be the cause.

I programmed it manually when I first bought it but it was a PITA, make your rc life easy and buy the link!

might have to do that. but I can't even program it maually. i dont get any sounds past the first cascade of beeps when I turn it on.
