Gona post something similar in each thread, cos I'm not sure how much cross thread reading there is. Please dont think this is spam I just want to make sure I get some opinions/advice.

I am looking at buying my first SC truck. I am looking for something that I can get into racing with, but is also fine for a bashing.

So I am looking at the HPI Blitz, Team Associated SC10 and Traxxas Slash.
My preference is RTR as I am new and have no idea what I'm doing about anything.

Would be looking for best to upgrade in the future too. Most posibilitys for expansion :)

Would also appreciate any sites that would be good to look at :)

Thanks all

the sc10 is fragile as I've read....I've had slash 2 of them good trucks great racers and bashers there tough.....I'm getting a blitz wed and what I've read there tough and a good racer

I see the new 4x4 slash is only $400 (if I can get it for that price near me that would be awesome) so that looks like a pretty good place to start. In RC Driver they have an article on it with a bunch of upgrade ideas so I think Ill be bookmarking that page and set my eyes on the prize.

Let me know how the blitz turns out cos it does seem real nice. Although isn't it only 2WD where as most of the newer cars are 4x4?

most of the short coursetrucks are 2wd like the blitz,sc10,slash 2wd,losi strike, the kyosho sc truck (check that out) its cool:thumbup1:

The blitz and sc10 and low center of gravity chassis trucks, the slash has a higher center of gravity chassis which is nice for bashing. The sc10 cab be fragile, but rpm make parts to fix that. You can get rpm parts for the blitz and slash as well. If you want to take a slash to the next level, get the proline protech kit and a lcg chassis. That's how I ran my slash and it is outright fast and I'd put it against any 2wd truck. You can also find the slash the cheapest.

If you want a 4x4 the slash is the cheapest way to go. You can start to find them brand new in a box for around the 325 range. Rpm has also started releasing numerous parts for the slash 4x4 as well. Hope I helped and welcome to the site.

i think i will be looking at a 4x4 slash now

are most trucks still 2wd as the local hobby shop said people were trading them in for 4wd?

Did you mean proline protrac? Or am I missing something.

Tomorrow I am browsing the local hobby shops and eyeing up prices. So will keep people posted on what I'm doing.

p.s I guess this should get moved to the slash 4x4 thread now...

Yea I meant protrac, I've been messing up the name since day one. I even had the kit and still mess up the name. I wouldn't count out 2wd, there are still companies making new ones. Really though the choice us yours and 4wd tends to be a little easier to drive with the extra wheels pulling as well, only downside is that there is more parts to wear out or break. Either way you will not be disappointed.

It would appear my real car has just given up, kinda. So real car is taking priority which means not looking at a rc car for another month or two. By which time the season will be well under way or almost finished so looks like a next year racing deal for me.
More practice time =]
