hey guys just got a revo with a 3.3 in it and I'm just trying to get it cleaned up and sorted out
in stock form will a revo pop the front wheels,of course with a good tune.I've got it to a stage where its running fairly consistently ,dosent like left hand turns at all, is there an issue with that
i've got the new 150cc tank coming and a new airfilter also
finally i've drilled the stinger out to 5.5 mm trying to get a wee bit more power out of her but seems to run a bit harder oin the higher rpm band but i can't seem to get it to pull hard off the line, slipper is just about locked and i dont think i can lean out the lsn any more coz is causing the idle to hang
if anyone has some input id love to hear as I'm new to the revo scene

I hope you preformed a proper break in? You know the one that is MANDATORY if you want your truck to run well. As for the wheelies I have no idea.

I got it in a trade so she pre run in lol engine still has plenty ot pop and I just sealed it and rebuilt the carb
I dont know why I keep having these prob with the 3.3s this is the 3rd one of owned now while they go hard once they get moving I can't seem to get the snappyness I would like out of them

Gearing is standard , slipper looks in good condition as does the engine clutch
I think I may have to wait for a cooler day to get a better tune on it , I mean it runs good but it usually stall twice a tank but fires straight away but it seems when I brake and do a hard left turn it gets a bit grumbly so maybe also I need a bigger area to get a tune

Keep leaning the lsn little by little until it wheelies. If it doesn't do it within half a turn you've got another issue. You can also set your idle gap below 1mm and have good results.

Cheers think I need to start again with the tune hopefully its not too hot this arvo

i'm deff thinking of doing the 3.4 carb just waiting on some funds...these trx carbs suck

i just checked ebay they're bout $40 brand new
just been setting up the carb idle gap 1.0mm and readjusted the carb so it opens fully and put ball bearings on the linkage so hopefully that smooths it out just gotta wait till later in the day its meant to 40c today:whhooo:

Yes they can do wheelies but you really need to lean the engine out to pull the front end off the ground on a hard surface. Gotta love the videos of these trucks and what they show you.

The Carb on the Revo is a slide carb and it really does not suck. Slide carbs require almost daily tuning in my experence and it is the first tank of fuel that it takes to adjust it for the day. Yes I can perform wheelies on my Revo but it requires that I lean the fuel mix to a point that can almost blow the engine because of lack of oil. I would rather keep the engine a little rich and only pull a tire off the ground then attempt to flip it over on a wheelie :)

You can also buy the smallest clutch bell and largest spur gear than you will pull wheelies all the time but you will suffer in speed.

Is there an issue with the tanks in the revo like the maxx and if so whats the fix, it currently has the 125cc tank and I've got the 150cc coming or is there something else to put in its place

My 3.3 revos never had any trouble pulling wheelies, even with the 36t spur on them.

so i managed to get her out for a run today......think i found my problem,no compression:angry: i stripped it down and you can push the piston to the top of the sleve
so my next question is what engine do i put in i have 4 options but they all have a small problem
1 i have an os 18tm in good condion but it needs a revo header
2 picco 26 max red dot ,needs an engine mount and probably a better exhaust
3 rb tm323 ,needs mount header and pipe
4 bite the bullet and buy a new 3.3 and use one of the available carbs i have to make it sing
if anyone has an input on these id like to hear about it or if you have any of the parts i need pm me to discuss a price

I know my 3.3 engine/3.3 chassis revo doesn't wheelie easily on pavement, but does on grass with lower gearing. I think I'm running 13/40 gearing on the thing. The 3.3 just doesn't seem to have any real low end to it.

The only pipe I've tried that gets consistent wheelies (with 13/40 gearing) is the trinity high flow pipe without the stinger insert. But it's so loud that I don't run it. I have a THS high torque pipe hopefully coming in the mail soon. Hope it puts out more low end power than a single chamber resonator with the stinger drilled out or I'll be annoyed!

haha it aint doing nothing now still trying to work out what engine to put in it,i'm leaning towards the red dot with the stock exhaust,i'll deff have to drill the stinger out a bit more
i did however like the idea of modding a 3.3 and seeing what that would go like
hmm decisions,decisions

My Revo 3.3 engine is 7 years old and still runs like a charm. I almost have that many gallons of fuel on the the engine. Now I will go back to saying the richer you run them thru the years the longer the engines will last.

Get them to the best performance of the day then back it down just a littlle to keep the engine in and at around the 200 Degree range. I tune it on the first tank of fuel and check it after about 3 laps on the track. Yes Traxxas says you can run them up to 270 Degrees but I choose to run my engines at lower temps. You will never hurt an engine running it too rich but you will blow the engine running it too lean.
