shortened fuel line, is this bad?

my friend offered to help clean up my new pre owned revo and decided there was too much fuel line and cut it down so it doesn't loop it just goes direct to the carb is this a problem, I'm assuming traxxas dont provide that much fuel line for no reason?

I think you're rig will still run alright but the long fuel line is good to have. It helps to keep the engine running after the truck flips and before you can get to it to flip it back on all 4s. I'm sure there are others who will have other things to say as to the benefits of keeping the line just as long as stock...
 
Shortening the line so it runs directly to the carb will not cause any problems. You just get less lid and run time.
 
lid? sorry still new and by run time do you mean the fuel will burn faster?
 
what there saying is by makeing it shorter if you flip it over it willnot run for as long as it will with long line. makeing it shorter willnot efect the performance of it at all.
 
When your RC car/truck flips upside down, the normal fuel delivery from the tank stops, and the vehicle will only run on whatever fuel is in the fuel line. Once that's gone, the vehicle stops. Shortening the line, in reality, is shortening the amount of "Upside down fuel" you'll have.

Most guys can run to their upside down rc vehicle and flip it over before it stops running. Shortening the line will not effect your performance, but you'll just have to run a little faster if you flip your vehicle, and start carrying your glow stick and/or starting wand WITH you.
