well one of the pharmacists that I work with told me to go out to a gun club a few miles away and give shooting skeet a try. this was my first time ever doing this, so I picked up the jetski and on the way back picked up 2 friends and took them to the shooting range.
they had 5 stations and there were probably over a hundred people out there and being our luck it was league night too so these guys had some serous bucks in their guns.
so we were really nervous, cause we knew we would SUCK IT BIG TIME well I shot 11, one friend shot 8 and the other one 5 the two guys that were with us shot like 24 and 22, out of 25 they were good
it was a blast and was getting late and they turned the lights on and we did one final round, I think I was getting the hang of it cause I shot 20 out of 25 this round, i was really excited cuase this was a lot of fun
have any of you guys done competitive shooting? i never knew this existed but it sure was a lot of fun :sniper:

My shooting club holds a small competition each year at a local outdoor range. We shoot two rounds of 9mm auto at 15 and 25 yards, and 36 rounds of clay traps. The only requirements to enter is owning your own 9mm and 12 ga. shotgun. First place gets their name on a trophy and gets to be called "el presidente" for the year. They also get to call all the monthly poker nights. Last place has to organize each poker night for the year and is handed all adminstrative duties. I took first this year in the pistol section but choked during the clay session, placing 5th overall.

Pistols are fun but it's much more fun IMO to shoot at moving targets.

YEAH! the guy that runs/owns the skeet range has a 50 cal pistol, he sells shots for it at $5 each or 12 for $42 I think he said the bullets are 440 grain LOL we really want to shoot it AT something like a watermelon or something that will explode BIG TIME gosh thats a 1/2" muzzel its freakin huge!!

I remember that club or at least if it's the one I think your talking about. Drove by it all the time never stopped there though. We used to have outings all the time in the summer when I lived in Chicago. There would be like 20 of us out there mostly my Dad's friends and they were all cops. Used to play a game called Annie Oakley. Get everyone in line, first guy calls and shoots. If he hits the pigeon the next guy goes, if he misses the guy next to him can shoot, if he hits, the first guy is out, if he misses it goes down the line. Kinda fun. Shooting's is fun period!

Yeah... I miss the days of hunting. With clays, I could get 22 out of 25, but I couldn't drop a pheasant to save my life.

We used to live by a garbage dump. It was a 200 yard long ditch that a farmer dug and everyone threw their crap there... anyway, there were old cars, refrigeraters, stoves... cool big stuff to pick at from a ways off. I loved shooting the .22. I'd sit about 150 yards out and see how tight of a pattern I could hold on a fridge. It was cool shooting stuff like that because you could see the hole from a long ways off with a scope.

i used to shoot on my HS's rifle team. made county all-stars with it, but since the sport at that level is all but dead, there was no where else to go with it. my old coach still lets me stop by on practice nites every now and then to stay sharp.

I try to go skeet shooting with my dad at least once a month. The place we go to has about 16 stations and you get like 8 -10 shots at each... I can usually at the most 65 out of 100...

I love shooting skeet! No gun club here...We just go behind my friends house and shoot until our arms hurt LOL. $4.00 for a case of skeet and we buy cheap shells...It makes for a fun, cheap afternoon of shooting and talking A LOT of poop.

SMaxxin you are so right, that was the only way that I ever knew how to shoot clays, see how hard you could throw the thing so your friend couldn't hit it LOL if we do shoot the 50cal pistol I will post a vit if we shoot a watermelon with it

oh and when we got there there were people drinkin, barbecuing and shootin, all we needed were some hott chicks and I would have called it heaven
man rc clubs, shooting clubs this stuff is sooo cool!

You want to see how good you are? Try using potatoes! It's funny as hell, they drop lock a rock. Think your really good, use potatoes and an SKS.

I get FE! LOL

I'm with Eddy. I love shooting cans. Load up the .22, some empty cans and a 6 pack.. I throw some cans in because I shoot more than I can drink. :) And I always bring the cans back home too. (Hate to see a bunch of trash in the woods)
I love my .357 but can't afford to shoot it as much. Want to try to get it out more this year.

We had some exploding targets about 10 years ago. Anyone seen these? They were about 3"x3" square. A red dot in the middle about the size of a silver dollar. Haven't been able to find them. They weren't that loud, but damn they were fun. If ya have a link, please post it.

hey guys, try picking up some blocks of ice from the mini-mart on your way to the range. just spray paint a dot on it if you like. fun to shoot, no garbage to clean up, and it explodes. i could only imagine a 10lb block of ice hit with a 12ga slug. when i went up to the cabin more often we used to put ice cubes on railroad ties about 125yards out and use the .22's or the .223. cans filled with water is fun too.

Marshmallows in a pond with a .22. Every now and then when you hit one right it shoots up in the air like it was shot out of a cannon. New way to make smores!

There's an old retired guy at the range that is always shooting his .50 rifle at the 25 yd tin can range. He knows the range masters pretty well so they let him shoot one gallon jugs of water filled with colored water. When he hits those things the water shoots 50 ft straight up.
