i was wondering what shocks n springs are the best to go with.. i have p2 rockers n i think they are the stock read springs n shocks.. any ideas let me know thanks

Stock revo shocks and springs are pretty good IMO. Especially the gtr's. There are several spring rates available depending on what your rig weighs.

okay i dont think the ones i have are gtrs.. but the turnbuckel striped out on one today.. i want a set up that is going to be able to take some abuse

oooooo K !

First up, Stock shocks are raw plain finish aluminumc and the Pre load rings are black plastic (well, more a composite material actually).

You can get aluminum pre load rings to replace the plastic ones for around $15 - $20.

For springs, I found that running purple band springs and heavy shock fluid in the rear end helps to stop the "Squat" from acceleration and improves overall rear end handling.

At the front, I still have stock weight oil whilst running silver springs. I have found though, that the front end does "Dive" under braking and "Climb" when accelerating....

Alum shock ends.....................hmm, Personally, I would say avoid them and stick to the stock ones. Alum pre-load rings YES, definately, Alum spring cups, again yes. alum shock ends ? nope.

Stick to the plastic ones. If the shock bottoms out on the spring and the suspension and thus the rocker, keeps travelling it is more likely to break the rocker if using alum shock ends. HOWEVER, if the stock plastic shock ends are fitted, they will at least absorb some of the impact, thus lessening the force on the stock plastic rocker even if it means replacing the shock end because of it.

It is Better replacing the cheaper shock end, than having to buy a set of rockers to repair just one side..

Experience has taught me that much at least.........

Yeah but doing wheelies will pull those cheap plastic ends apart, been through dozens of them. The rod ends are the weakest link, I've had no trouble since installing them a year ago. Rockers are gonna break no matter what, especially when doing backflips. As for the shocks, you can get gtr's cheap on ebay and I've never had a problem with a preload ring.

2revo............my revo does nothing but wheelies, flips, cartwheels & barrels rolls. The stock shock ends are still in good order on the rear end as well as front end. I replaced them not long after I purchased the rig used as they were stripped out on the threads. Never a problem since. The6y have been on there almost a year and nothing wrong with them yet (touch wood)......... I have a set of alum shock ends, but i will not fit them as i do not see the need.

Personally, I have been down the "upgrade to improve" route with a buggy. It got expensive ! Replacing parts that are ok and function without issue is one thing I will not suggest. I Will only ever suggest to replace parts if they are damaged or no longer fit for duty...... Otherwise there is just no point to it.

Sais he who is building a revo from scratch with the best parts available...................

i see what u guys are saying.. i understans they are cheap. but you get what you pay for.. i dont want rhem popong of and then they are no good. i have p2rockers n have a spair set... thanks for all the info

I'm just saying what works for me. I'm sure pararevo can decide based on everyone's opinion.

I've ruined brand new plastic shock ends in one weekend.:(

fair play to you 2revo....

It comes down to how hard you "Bash" i suppose................

Yeah man I'm not trying to make it look like you're wrong, just saying what works for me. For some reason I want aluminum caps and spring collars now.

Thats the point though, i know that's not what you were trying to do.............

As to the alum caps, spring cups and collars, Check ebay..... Either under 3Racing or GPM.

Guess how i know about that :hehe:

I'll give ya'll a clue.....I'm working on it as a project...................
