Shocks 4 or 8

I was going to get a new set of shocks but I dont know what kind.
I what shock that are good on the road but can handle major abbuse.
but I dont Know weather to go with 4 or 8 can someone help I would like a set less then $100 and give me the names of some.

I run 4 Unlimited Engineering SuperMaxx shocks on my maxx and my savage. You can get a set of 4 for $69 from here: http://www.hobbyshopnj.com/monmaxx.html

Do a search on this page for: UE10120
It will take you to just the shocks. You need to provide oil and about an hour to put them together and install them on the truck. I've been running the same 4 for about 8 months on 2 different trucks. I ran them on a 21 maxx (which I gave up on), then I installed them on my sportmaxx. I liked them so much, I installed a set of 4 on my savage.

Get em, you won't be dissapointed.

Olds -

Does the 4 shock setup hold up well on the Savage? I've read some yes and some no. Purchased a used Savage from this board and it came with the 4 shock setup, but I'm debating swapping it out for 8 stockers because I want the truck more for bashing than for racing.

It probably depends on what shocks you use. All I can say is that the SuperMaxx shocks can definitly take a healthy beating. I don't race either, just bash. I don't normally go over 6 feet of air and it handles it just fine.

I had Hot bodies al savage shocks on it, they suck. I broke 2 doing a 3 foot drop test and I broke the other 6 my first time out. I've run about a gallon through the truck with the UE shocks on it and they still perform like new.
