ok if a deal goes through i will soon have 8 ofna supershocks!! i have a few questions. ok i want my suspension to be really plush.i need to know what weight oil would be best in all eight shocks and be really plush plus the hole/piston setup.also what kind of pistons do i need??does one size fit all??could you also post a link to what pistons and oil i should get??

thanks alot,
tyler

I don't know of a link, or what brand of oil you use, but with 8 supershocks with the lightest springs, it will still be fairly stiff suspension. I would suggest 25-30wt oil if you are going to run all 8 shocks.

oil weight depends on your running surface....is it really crappy then go 25 if it's fairly smooth go 35-40...or if you are jumping to teh atmosphere go withthe heavier oil too.....try different shock setups and see what you like......there is no one way to set them up for everyone and every surface...cause you may drive into corners different than I do...that will again change your shock setup....

Yeah, and remember those shocks are longer than the t-maxx shocks by about 5mm or so... it does make a difference and the extra length can cause the outdrives to bind... I love my 4 shock setup. It should work for everything i intend to do with it..

yeah i will experiment with my setup! ok..i need to know like what thicker/thinner oil will do like stiffer or more plush and if eight does turn out to be too much for the truck because i hear alot of ppl saying that 8 supermaxx shocks is an overkill so if it is too much could i just like use one of the two on each arm as like a bypass and just put no spring on it??i was just wondering if that wold work also.

thanks alot,
tyler

I would try the lightest springs in the front (white) and the second lightest springs in the back (red). If that doesn't work, then the bypass shock idea would work well. I would say to start at 30wt oil.

If the shocks are to long you can use limiters inside the shocks to minimize the down travel. Basicly they are nylon washers that go on the shaft inside the shock to keep them from fully extending.

8 buggy shocks is a lot..... You may want to just try 4 to start and go from there.

I had the UE shocks that are similar to the ofna ones and I used 4 on my Maxx. It took a lot. I figured the towers or arms would give first so the arms did.I had white springs and 35 weight oil in them. Worked for my needs.

ok i was planning on starting at 30 weight but where do i go from there??thicker or thinner oil??also are these setups you guys are telling me about work well with 2 hole pistons because thats all i see in them.

thanks guys,
tyler

I think that is the only kind there are... thats the only kind i have and thats the only kind that were in the UE mother load rebuilt kit... It depends on what you want from 30wt. If you want it to rebound slower, thicker oil, if you want it to rebound faster, thinner oil...

well what do i want for plushness i want it to be real plush??

thanks,
tyler

Lighter oil will make it more plush, but it will bottom out easier from big jumps.

I actually drilled the holes in the disks out a little bit and run 4 with 40 weight on my savage. I also run the navy blue springs that came with them.
