just wondering cuz i want to change the oil in my shocks b/c it bottms out too easy

so i was wondering do i have to go out and buy shock oil just for the r/c cars or can i use like motor oil as shock oil

it might be too think but i think not at least not the 5w 30 but just let me know what u think

oh if this is a yes wouldnt this work for the diff oil also???

no dont use motor oil cuzz it dose not have silcone in it and trust me you want it to have silcone

it will last longer too

I would stick with shock oil/silicone labeled as such. You can experiment with other oils at your own risk, but the end result might be more costly than the five to ten dollars you might spend on the right stuff at your hobby store.

Do not use motor oil. It becomes acidic over time, & will eat the plastics and rubber diaphrams in your shocks. Like Sky said, your better off getting the right stuff (Silicone oil) from your LHS.

well thats what i wanted to hear i didnt want to hear just not to do it well thanks for the help guys
