Hey, my rear right shock on my storm keeps on blowing out. I'm not jumping or anything, just bashing around in the parking lot. I'm using the same fluid in all of my shocks, and this seems to be the only one that keeps doing this.

Any ideas on what the problem is related to?

Maybe you have a crack in the bulk head or something. If the shock is not installed properly or if it is struck the wrong way it might go. I have never seen a shock blow tho. does it look like it has been struck or is the fluid leaking or what?

busted..think back before you ran that truck tonight...It leaked all that oil in short amount of time. There was a consider amount of oil that collected on the back of my tailgate. Did it blow out even while the car was at rest? I'm wondering if you have something sharp inside the shock body that may be piercing the bladder. How did internals look?

It could be that the shock shaft itself is scratched, tearing the o-rings. Had this happen numerous times. Or, you could have a bit of grit up in the seals causing them to tear.

Either way, you may want to tear the shocks down and put in new o-rings. And maybe invest the $7 or so in GS's shock boots... GSC34002 (shock boots, 4). They're one-size-fits-all, and slip right on.

well, I tore 'em down and found that the clip that holds the o-rings was missing. Also I noticed that the other shock pulled the piston through and thus was not doing it's job. I think I have them fixed, this time. But if not, I'm buying new ones, this is getting old.

someone had hyper 7 shocks up for like 15 or 20 bux.. there good shocks.. thats what i run on. my uhh hyper 7?

For the piston-punch-thru problem, I tapped threads all the way down and put a thin .4mm nut on the top (.7 pitch, if memory serves...). Problem never happened again. Use an old rag and some vice grips to hold the shock shaft (to prevent scratching).
