i've gone through about 6 shock ends. the just pull of off the shaft and i loose the spring clip. do you guys run aluminum shock ends? i guess that if i didnt drive like crap i would be ok but it seems like when i crash bad i loose one. i'm running silver springs in the front with 50wt oil. i might just buy new shocks and see what happens they are stock.

I've never had that problem...
6 Shock ends seems to be alot...
I would be trying to find the issue cause I'm sure there is one...
I crash my Revo real hard and never broken one...

I've gone thru bout 3 sets from jumpin the doubles at the bmx track. Had 1 huge jump that broke all 4 after that i got some aluminum ends from racers edge and have not had a problem since

I use the aluminum ends by Racers Edge. I never had a stock pop off, but they would stretch and break on my original Revo back in 2005. I still use them today on my ERevo.

Here is a review of them done by FastEddy back in '05.

Stormer Hobbies has them.

here on RCNT since he is a site vendor.

He owns RC Parts Factory and carries some Racers Edge products. He may be able to get them for you.

I had 2 of them come off when I first got my Revo but havent had a issue since and I have hit 8-10 foot hills with it. I will be getting the aluminum after I got thru the 8 ends I have left.

me and olds had this problem for a long time. its something about the suspension setup. at full droop the shocks stop the down travel before the suspension does. the suspension drooping after liftoff would pull on the shock ends. i never did find a fix for it.

thats what i noticed when i had it on the bench last night. i'm hoping that aluminum ends will held this issue. I'm running p2 rockers also. when i get some extra cash i'm going to order some racers edge ends and new shocks.

Yes the aluminum ends are a good idea although my shock ends (the threads) are slightly bent from using them. You must have the wrong end for your shaft size because they should only stretch and break like beason stated above. I think mine are GH brand. The droop issue kind of sucks, I've bent rocker posts from that too.

I measured them and they were the same. I've had one stretch and I've snapped two and the rest just pull off. I've decided to sell my stampede and use that cash to treat the revo to some upgradeds. It's sat on the shelf all summer and my son would rather drive the mini slash anyways.

Depending on what arms your running (RPM vs stock), you may run into issues of snapping shock shafts with alloy ball ends. That's what I ran into with mine. RPM arms have 3 holes in them I believe. I was running P2's and had the shocks mounted in the holes closest to center for the tallest setting. When you land flat, it was fine, but if you land hard off kilter, it would actually jam the rocker against the end of the shock body and snap the shaft right off.

I've been running my current revo all summer long (probably about 3 gallons of fuel so far, BB) with rpm arms, nice teflon/anno'd platinum shocks. I've replaced 4 ends so far, all of which on the rear (just did 2 tonight). They get deformed from hitting big air. I have yet to rip one off.

Also, I run a side pipe, which keeps some of the direct heat from the shock ends. That's what was believed to be the issue with stock trucks with the pipe sitting right over them like a broiler making them soft and they would rip apart.

I've found running in the middle hole on RPM arms gives the best results with two things, shock ends and axle carriers. At the tallest setting, I also had an issue with the pillow balls popping through the carriers. In the center hole, that's far less likely to happen. Now that I run tru-track on this revo, the rears won't pop out regardless what I do and I'm still running stock front carriers.

Also, if they are ripping off the threads, you may be over tightening them, which is stripping them a bit making the threads weak from the start. You just want to tighten them until the base of the end hits the flat spot of the shaft. Then a hair more to keep them snug.

I'm running at the most inwards hole. I will try to run in the center and see what happens. I'm still running stock a arms I haven't broken any yet. I need to drop some cash into it. I don't want to rock a half cab in the winter. lol. I'll do suspension and body now and a new mill in the spring.

what's the difference with the rpm true track and stock rpm a arms? I'm watching a few sets on eBay.

The true track has a fixed toe in of 1.5 degrees. I love it not having the rear toe links. Just watch it if you use trx cvd's. You'll need the deeper drive cups and lots of neg camber to prevent dogbone poppage. I always use the middle holes and pro-2 rocker setup. I've burned at least 20 gallons through two different revos by now and that's been the best setup for me. I've only had the plastic ends pull apart from doing too many power wheelies. My old revo (2.5 chassis) is the 'go big or go home' beater. There's not much that hasn't been broken on it.
