Shock Covers

I have been looking on ebay for shock covers for my t-maxx the socks that just slide over the springs I will be dirving in sand will they keep the sand off the shock shafts, and keep the shocks cleaner.:bow:

I would also like to know if they keep the shocks cleaner or what the point is.

Or just do the balloon trick. Get a wide mouth body (I prefer Mt. Dew) bottle and get those balloons that clows tie up to make animals. Put the spring into the bottle, slide the ballon over the mouth of the bottle. Now compress the bottle which fills the balloon just enough to put the spring into the balloon. Pull it off then trim the excess! Thats all, replace as needed. Been doing that for awhile now. Works great and really cheap.

You could also drop the whole shock in too. I guess I will try that sometime. Just thought of that one. Thanks flandersander for getting my noggin going again.

The shock shaft is smooth and shiny, and there's always a thin film of silicon oil on it. sliding up and down in dusty conditions eventually wears out the seals because of the abrasive dust. The shock socks look good, protect the shafts and seals, and will last a long time.
