Hello,
Iwant to start off by saying u guys are the wizards of the rc world..If any one has a question u guys are always ready to answer..

My question is about shocks..I bent a stock shock rod during my last bashing session..I had a little trouble finding a new rod..(everyone is sold out of traxxas replacement parts).i got a new one though and am back running.. What are a good quality replacement that are pretty durable.. I dont really want to spend my entire stash on a set but i really need some direction on what to get.. Thanks again guys..

btw..I have a new 2.5 tmaxx..

ya thats kinda what happend to me but ALOT bigger scale of damage i replaced myne with hot bodies shocks they are really nice i dont have any pics but you can look them up on tower hobbies

I use the Dynamite shocks which are made by Losi, they are great shocks, I have not had a single problem or leak with them. I also have the Trinity blue springs on them. Great set up imo. Cost about $100 for the shocks and springs, but well worth it. Since they use losi parts finding parts for them is usually not a problem.

Another thing you will want to take into consideration is whether or not you want to build them. Both the AE and Dynamite require you to put them together. It is quite simple though so don't let that deter you.

Can we clarify this thread please? Are you wanting suggestions for complete shocks or upgraded shock shafts? X

Yep thats them, great shocks but the springs that come with them suck. The AE come with plastic caps which is why most people replace the caps with aluminum. Both the AE and Dynamite shocks would be a good choice. I dont have the AE but from what I have heard their stock springs suck too

I am with NC on recommendation.. I run Traxxas Big Bores. If I buy new shocks for a T-maxx I would get the Dynamites that you listed. Dynamite shocks made by losi are the best shocks on the market imho ...X

Sorry x789 !! I guess i should have been a little more specific about what i was asking.. i want suggestions on aftermarket shock set-ups for the new t-maxx ,because I'm have trouble with the lhs having traxxas parts in stock... i would like something more durable then stock....

well then i will probably get the dynamites...
Has anyone ever ordered from stormer hobbies or is there someplace better to get them from...i would get them from tower hobbies but i see no listing for them...

Stormer is a good place to order from. I have heard no complaints on them. Tower Hobbies does not carry Dynamite shocks for some reason...odd.

I run the AE shocks and like them. If you have any questions about them, feel free to PM me or ask here in the open.

As for springs, all shocks come with some piss poor stock springs. I think the Progressive suspension kit is the only one that I have seen with some quality springs (stock). I run Trinity springs on my shocks and they are great. For a light T-Maxx (stock) use the Trinity Blue springs...nice. For heavier T-Maxxes, you will need to start mixing in Trinity Black springs or perhaps go all black depending on how heavy the truck is.

BTW I like your signature.

Sky thats becuse horizon hobbies owns Dynamite or other way around ..also why tower doesn't carry almost anything for a losi

That explains it. Thanks for the info Rob D.

Thanks guys..

I just ordered the set of dynamite shocks...Now the problem is waiting on them...i also ordered

1. rrp slipper clutch set-up
2. pro-line steering kit
3. traxxas FOC conversion

I now am curious about the springs u said to use..
There seems to be trinity blue and also dark blue. which ones do u mean.. this will be my first set of shocks to really play with so be ready for alot of questions guys...

Thanks Again...

I know how the truck and off road shocks like the king racing shocks work. Are the piggy back shocks the same??? Is that an extra resivour for more fluid for the shocks?? Check out the sig!! Thanks Rob!!

the resivor shocks should be kind of charged some kind of gas or air at least on most other things they are the resi is to hold the charge and oil can flow into it to cool ...kind of hard to explain

Well this doesn't say they are but as i said for larger apps they are prime example is dirt bike 4 wheelers heres a link to some ...all they say is resi for oil
