Has anyone ever shipped to Canada. Is it worth it to do so. Do you do it the same way as you do here, get there zip code and yours and see what the cost would be thru ups or do I have to go thru another carrier. Specificly Newfoundland, Canada

Well depending on what it is will make a difference. Using the US Postal Service will be the cheapest route but they do not do delivery confirmations. You may be able to use EMS Speedpost through the USPS but I'm not 100% on that. You will need to fill out a customs form. UPS and FedEx will be high, I know for a fact that FedEx doesn't do ground shipping to our northern neighbors, and I don't think UPS will either. When you figure in their express shipping rates to international destinations it will just become so outrageous you'll just want to say F-it! Personally I don't like shipping out of the country but once in a while make exceptions for personal stuff. If it's for work I have no choice and it never fails, something always get hosed up in the paperwork!

Nope, you can send via UPS. Just like you do here, just may take a little longer.

Do you know if they have to pay a duty on stuff going over? Is it a percentage of the full amount. And if so, do I add that to the sell price. Or is that a separate cost.

We ship to CA all the time via USPS. You have to fill out a customs declaration form, that's about it, no extra charges and if they are the recipient pays them before pickup.

The deal between parcel post and air mail is that with PP it may take up to 6 weeks, air mail, 3-14 days. This is (as the clerk explained) because they load up a boat or a plane and wait till it's FULL before shipping! Stupid, I know.

So if you use USPS go air mail.

Yeah when I got my Hpi Baja in the mail I had to pay duty on it as well. I still got a good deal thanx to ZANDOR . When Kurt_f250 sent me 2 used engines and I had to pay 50 bucks duty..But when he sent me a whole T-maxx and parts in a big box I only paid 35 bucks duty.. Seems to change alot.

USPS International has tracking equivalent to UPS or Fed-Ex. Unlike the delivery confirmation which gives you nothing until delivered, the USPS International tracks every step of the way.

Whenever I've shipped to canada I've shipped Usps. I always mark it as a gift because then I think there duties are waved.

Idiots at my local PO said there's no way for them to track poop int'l. Gotta love the small towns!

If you wanna be a nice guy, note that it is a "GIFT" on the customs form, and I believe they wave the duty fee or something like that...

i suggest u get it shipped usps not ups as i hear they get it past customs and charge u even more than just the duty
normal parcel is fine, just be prepared to pay like 14% duties once it arrives

I am beginning to think that it can be a pain in the @$$ to ship to our northern neighbors. Don't think its worth the hassle.

not really any hassle
just takes a few days longer if it needs to pass throught customs
and the receiver pays duties
just the same as shipping to any other country

Obviously you've never dealt with the US Postal Service:ahem:

yes i have. most of the stuff i order, i get it shipped by usps
What I meant was you have never gone into the post office and dealt with any of the morons that work there. Recieving is a different stroy.:constipat

I would be fine with a few jerks behind the counter, if Only I didn't have to pay 40% in duty when ordering outside of EU.

You do get lucky once in a while. And 800$ order from Killerhobbies that I received last week, slipped right through customs. That was 300$ saved. That made my whole month. :celebrate:
