Guys.... gotta small rant I need to get off of my chest. Anybody floored by what it cost to have things shipped these days? I know the price of gas has gone up, which come to think of it is probably the biggest reason... but the package I ordered is just over 2lbs... so it is not really big. It cost $12.87 to ship UPS and for that price it is still in the 7 to 10 day range. I figured for that much it would be 3 or 4 days.... nope, 7 to 10. The package is comming from California, but still I have ordered lots of stuff that comes from Cali... almost every RC part I have ever bought comes from Cali and it is usually in MD in 3 days. I don't know... I am whinning now so I will stop... I just had to complain. It cost almost as much to ship as it did just to purchase the product. I guess these are the times we live in.

I ordered a $5.99 airbrush kit from harbor freight that cost me $6.99 to ship, and it still isn't here after a week and a half.

Also check the price of a cardboard box at the UPS Stores, I asked the guy three times...$7.49 for "this" box? He just looked at me like I was completely clueless.

is it a body Tom? Many times it's the size rather than the weight that makes the cost jump. But yes, shipping can be very expensive sometimes.

Hey Mods... I just realized I misspelled prices in my Title.... Would it be possible to correct that for me? Rolex will have a field day with this! Thanks!

Hey Marauder,

It stinks for sure. What can you do though? If your LHS doesn't have it or can't get it.... your screwed. I guess even at your LHS your paying shipping on anything your order..... I am sure they elevate the price to recover the shipping.

You know Lessen... I never thought of that. Size of the item probably has alot to do with it. Never thought of that... I always thought it was based on weight.

I'm just gonna do this before Rolex gets here. This is too good of an opportunity to miss.

Was it something like this?:irock:

How did you get a picture of Rolex's formal dress? LOL

All fixed.

Yeah, I know it! I shipped a small padded envelope 2-3 day priority, and it was over $5!! When I added tracking it was close to $6.25

Well guys I was just reading up on some emails that I got from the postal service as well as UPS, and there are some prices changes going into affect with the USPS in a week or two. Some prices are going to be better, some will be more. And overall, I HIGHLY doubt that there will be a price reduction. However, the USPS is changing their shipping guidelines so that if you are shipping items in the same region it will be cheaper than shiping them across the country, which will not help much with my ebay stuff as I've bought stuff from almost every state in the continental US.

Just a thought in case it can help some of you guys out. I buy and sell a lot on ebay for someone that isn't a business officially. The flat rate boxes from USPS are saving me a lot of money. The other day I had an order with over 20 bucks of shipping even with the discount. They were small metal items that were heavy. I asked if they could ship USPS flat rate, and I got it for $8. That's $12 that I could spend on something besides shipping.

Just be thankfull you were'nt getting it shipped to canada ... Not only does it cost alot more but the package can get held up at the border for no reason . Then when you get it you have to pay duty .. Small example : I ordered some clodbuster wheel adapters ( nothing special ) @ 29.95 . To ship the package was 32 usd ?? And same thing it took like 10 days . I feel your pain Tom

Man PHX123, that does suck. At least I don't have to deal with customs. In fact that is why I have never purchased anything from Ebay that was out of the country... just didn't want to hassle with it. I guess in Canada though you don't have a whole lot of choice. What is duty? I am guessing it is some sort of tax you have to pay?

I ordered a part a few weeks ago... a bumper for my B44.... cost me $5 to have it shipped. Got the padded envelope in the mail and it said it cost .50 cents to mail. Talk about getting the shaft!

You think thats getting the shaft, when I first started dealing with ebay I bought some software to do mathematics to build subwoofer boxes because I had a side busines doing custom installations for extra money. I bought the fotware and ordered one for a buddy as well. The shipping and handling was $3.99 and the seller didn't combine them. After purchasing them and paying $8 shipping, the guy emailed the software to me and said I had permission to use it on two computers. I was so ticked, but mainly because I feel so dumb for falling for it.

Okay, how did you get the picture of my evening wear?
Not long ago I ordered an item with $4.95 shipping. It arrived in a padded envelope with 80 cents postage on it.

Well, I guessed I missed out on the misspelled title, but there's still this one:

I bought the fotware, and ordered one for a buddy as well.

That must be only for a Mac. I've purchased a lot of software, but have never had a reason to order any fotware.

You probably have some pretty snazzy fotwear to go with the evening dress. I'm trying to type without getting flux on my keyboard, sorry for the bad typing. Someone should "enjunear" non sticky flux paste haha.

Once your finished with your soldering, how about posting a pic of you and your "buddy" wearing your fancy fotware.
