I have the f4.6, I am wondering how many and the thousanths of shims needed??? I have fuel coming out from under button, LHS said shimmed wrong. I bought this motor used and it came with 4 shims, LHS said that is to many. hope you all can help, fuel is expensive:angry:
 
is it coming out from under the button or is it just in that general area. I would check to see if the head button is crossed threaded.
 
:\button not cross threaded, leaking from under button. need to know how many thousandths for proper shimming, also new problem carb FUBAR, anyone got a carb for the f4.6 for sale, don't want to spend 40-50$ for one @ LHS ( rip off artists)
 
Try eBay - there's a used one for sale that ends today - it's currently less than 2 bucks. Or buy a rebuild kit - which you might have to have on hand if you buy an already used carb.
