how do you know if your truck is shifting to soon or to late? I can't even tell when its shifting.... any answers?

Most of the time, youll hear what you hear in a regular truck, the rev going higher and then drops, NAAAAAAAAAAAAAnaaaaaaaa...
from a stand off position. On my maxx, I have the setup so you dont hear it, better for torque, dosnt spin the tranny. Hope this helped

Also, use your own judgement on when you think it should shift into 2nd, dont let the rpm get to high or youll blow the trans, lower the rpm is better for torque.

Hmm I dont think that my truck is shifting yet I think that I've just been toying arownd in first gear. I was at the park today and when I would give it all the gas it sounded like the engine was reveing really high so I just let off the gas. when I'm breaking in the engine should I keep giving it all the gas even if it sounds like that?

How many tanks do you have through it? And how far have you turned in the High Speed Needle since break-in started? I was just over half a turn in and 6 tanks from the start before I hit second.

And yes, I let it wind out until it hit 2nd. If it sounds uncomfortably high in rpms, its time to turn in the HSN a hair more. This will get you to second gear.

If not, lean a little more.

Watch the temps the whole time if you can.

I'm on like tank 4-5.... how do I return the high speed needle back to factory?

Dont change anything back yet. If you are on 4-5 then you are about to hit second gear. Just lean a little more then run a tank. About 1/8th of a turn. Then do it again if need be. If you lean too much, too fast, you will hit second too soon. Try it tomorrow and let me know. Your prob less than 3 tanks and 1/4 turn total away from second gear.

If you still havent hit second then you are breaking it in the right way.

It also depends on your elevation and temperature. My brother's hit second on his 4th tank. Mine took a little more seeing as how the manufacture tightened both screws on the 2 speed tranny. I was wondering why mine wouldn't shift for like 10 tanks... Tried to adjust it and it was tight as hell. Try what Christian said. If it doesn't work, I'd take a look at the tranny adjustment and make sure it wasn't like mine. I have mine adjust about 6 1/2 turns from out. My brother's is 7 out from tight. Factory I believe is 4 1/2??? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Well I hit second today and almost took my foot off. I was so amazed that I hit second I forgot what I was doing and crashed into my self. Trucks ok my foots alittle tender. I though the truck was fast before now its just unreal!!!!

What did you end up doing to get it there?

Now that you have it where you need it, be VERY careful on how much more you lean it out. A problem you can create is going to lean and causing to shift prematurely. Then you will loose the top speed you could have. You want it to shift right when the engine sounds like it is just about to wind out. Should get there quickly as well.

WELCOME TO 2 SPEED! That .21 bb is fast as hell isnt it!?!?!

Wait til you see a Hyper 8 port running in it!
