Hai everyone. I'm decided spend about $1000 - $1500 to build a full aluminum traxxas 3.3 revo. What brand aluminum should I get. I only know gh racing and hd logic are good. Any others??

Thanks!!

Anything aluminum you buy I can polish to make it really stand out :) if it's just going to sit on a shelf there really is no need to buy spendy stuff just stuff that's gonna look good :)

FastLane Machine....Golden Horizon even 3Racing is better than Integy. Even in a shelf queen I would not use it. There is not a huge amount of quality bling out there for the Revo like the T-Maxx and Savage line up.

Even if I had the money to do it, I still would not build a shelf queen! +1 on the FLM and GH aluminum though, they both make really nice stuff. Have never had experience with 3Racing stuff. And at least if you do decide to drive once a year, it will be able to stand up to the drive down the street and back!!!

This isnt even your decision, and its what he wants to do, so let him build it without any negative feedback towards him. If I had the money I would love to build a shelf queen because these RC machines are so incredibly fasinating with all there moving/mechanical parts, its awesome.

Can't wait to see this thing in motion, otta be pretty badass!

it's hard for me to say this.ONLY because i'm cheap .I don't belive in haveing it if you are not running it .but thats just because i can not do it, so I say if you got the cash to do it then do it right. It would be nice to look at something and say I built that and ani"t she PERRRRTY ..... GO FOR IT

Your right, its not my decision. I am just stating my opinion! I just dont see a point in building a $1500 dust collector that is going to sit on a desk and never get used...I just dont see a use in it if you can't take it outside and have some fun with it. And like you said they are fasinating with all the MOVING parts...shelf queens dont do much of that do they?

3 Racing makes some good parts also. I wouldn't use Integy parts on any vehicle, though. We do have other members that have great looking shelf queens (cough, cough, Rolex) so go for it.

If its truly going to be nothing but a shelf queen I don't see what difference the brand of aluminum makes. If you are going to be using it more than once a year then yeah stay away from Integy but if you only run it once in a blue moon Integy isn't going to fall apart on you. That being said I wouldn't have any major wrecks, Integy aluminum or not something will get torn up or bent and it wont be a cheap repair lol.

GPM also makes so good aluminum. At lest as far as I know its good aluminum. I don't buy a lot of aluminum parts but most of the ones i have bought have been from here. Just my .02 worth

Sure, they do a lot of it. Just ask Rolex. Granted he pushes them around while making a "Vroom Vroom" sound but it is moving...

Thanks guys, so I'm pretty much down to gh racimg and fast lane.

Where can I buy fast lane aluminum parts for revo? I didn't see any on their website :(
Any links? I do want good aluminum arms. I might run it, just not gonna bash it.

Thanks again;)

Well, u have the point too.
I will run it eventually, maybe once amonth. Just driving it around in a arkinglot, But not gonna race or bash it.
I race and bash with my ofna ultra lx 2. :)

Integy parts are pretty, but go with quality.

You may find yourself firing that beauty up someday......unlike Rolex!!!!

I built a shelf queen T-Maxx years ago, I had well over a grand in it, needless to say i had money trouble and decided to sell it didn't get no where near what i had it, it was full aluminum, I used the best of the best and had to sell it for 400 bux so i wont go there again.

Rookie check out my thread titled gauging intrest. If your wanting to do a shelf queen take a look at what I can do for that aluminum :)
