RC Driving Style
Hey guys. I had the worst crash ever last Saturday. I was at WOT, missed the ramp and slammed into the curb, which send my savage 12 ft. into the air and into the concrete pavement. my whole frontend gave out and the stock chassis plates bent outward into a gruesome T shape. the center dogbone bent at a 90 degree angle and my rc solutions rollcage is totaled. the electronics are intact but most of the plastic parts connected to the drivetrain have to be replaced. It was a really sobering moment and makes me wonder if I should stick with a hobby i'm so careless with. I have two options...either sell the parts or try to rebuild. Any suggestions?

Here's what it used to look like :depress:

Rebuild and play the game. Its all part of the fun, spending all your cash on fixing the beast, what more could you want.

Apart from a few million in the bank and a couple of blonde bimbo's on each arm.

see now if i had those, it wouldn't have been so painful. :) i totally agree..rebuilding is part of the fun. but this one was more than just another crash..it was complete devastation! so frustrating...thanks for the encouragement tho. i'll post pics so you guys get a better idea

Still say you should rebuild. If you give in then probably hundreds of other unknown people will do the same and that would mean less demand on the spare parts supplier and prices would go down and the parts would be easier to get hold of and we dont want that to happen do we. Rebuild it, call it a project, take your time and rebuild with good quality hop-up parts and make it a truck that we all want to dream about, make it the ultimate fantasy toy.

yeah man we dont want to see the normal pics we want to see the CARNAGE!!!! lol

thinking the same

hi guys, was thinking the same today aswell! had smashed my savage up last week aswell. spent about £100 on it to fix it then today i through my savage agaist the fence and smashed a titanium tie rod and stripped one of my truckzilla wheels out, all because it wouldnt start. ( bloody one way bearing) well i've calmed down now and decided to stick with my savage ( i love my savage to much ) besides shorty would kick my ass as he has helped me so much as i am a newbie! BIG SHOUT OUT SHORTY!

i'm still thinking of selling the parts...but probably as a whole package not individually

Suhweeet!! Those are some great carnage pics! A small sledge hammer and some time and you should be able to get most of that straight again. If you decide to part it out I might be interested in some parts.

And that my friend is why concrete always wins... I don't think I could have done better myself!

Just think, if it was a maxx, all you would find would be the tires... actually, I hit a telephone pole head on in second gear with my maxx and only broke a shock!

I guess you just tried harder.

I say rebuild. In the end, you will end up with something else anyway, so it might as well be something you enjoy (or enjoyed). Once you go nitro, nothing will compare. You can buy a quadrunner, a motocross bike, a car... whatever. But with any of those, can you ramp over a house and not die?

WOW !!! Those pics are BEAUTIFUL !!! We are all addicted to the smell of burning nitro, but our 2nd greatest fix in life is CARNAGE......
as long as it's someone else's.
Rebuild it, and do it again. I'll be needing another fix soon. This was the best I've ever seen. Congrats on being in first place.
By the way, the bumper looks good. Remove it and then start adding new parts to it till you get to the other bumper.

i love carnage.thats some twisted alum.take it apart and get your self a hammer and start banging away.you can problet strighten out most of it..good luck..this is just a small part of runnng nitro

Rebuild it and stay away from curbs next time!! Those are some sweet carnage picks too!!!! The cage doesn't look to bad and the TVP's and plastic parts are cheap to replace. If you ask real nice maybe some of the guys(myself included) could help you out with some spare parts.I think I have a set of stock TVP's ,radoi box, and the hinge pin braces laying around somewhere.I also found a few of the original c-hubs and uprights that I never sent back to HPI to get updated and hte stock steering setup lol!

let us all pray..... lol nice job. i have stock bulks, arms, shocks, steering knuckles,c-hubs, towers if you need any of these let me know always here to give a hand!!!!

hey thanks for all the input from everyone! i figured thats what i needed...to not sweat the small stuff... i appreciate it. We can rebuild him - better - stronger - faster! also my friend may actually have some footage of the crash. i have to get him to capture to hd so we can view it...the sound alone makes me cringe. if anyone is interested in the injured rc solutions cage, i will send it $20 shipped overnight anywhere.

Ouch! I bet you felt like this when this happened :flaming:
Get it over with brother, rebuild it and you'll feel better.
:cheerful: Maybe not your pocket but I guarantee you would.
