Ok... fill me in the the servo thing... what is the most important thing in servos? is it the speed of travel or the torque? I've seen some people say that they wont turn unless rolling... but I've also taken in some info about them being adjustable... so give me the skinny, what am i looking for in a good servo? and who makes the best quality servos? ... will the radio handle any servo change or do you have to stay with a certain type?

I know i got a million different questions and "olds" you seem to be my "info guy" ... I'm just trying to learn as much as i can about this hobby before jumping in head 1st... i think I'm gonna go with the revo and the rpm suspension upgrades... but you also said servo... so I'm looking for info ... thanx in advance for your help ...
 
Metal gears, ball bearings, torque and speed are all important aspects of servo performance. As is the power that goes to them. Radio gear operates much better on 5 nimh cells(6 volts) as opposed to 4 aa cells. The aa cells still produce 6 volts, but the current drop happens fast. Hitec makes killer servos. Speed won't be as much of a concern as torque in a revo. You want 140+oz.
 
help with servo

I have a 5309 revo . It has a 2056 throttel servo and dual 2075's for steering. I am going to upgrade the throttel servo but I have noticed on the 2075 they say digital but the 2056 does not does this matter? Plus what is the best bang for my buck. thanks
 
Digital has a much faster response time compared to analog. Also, if I'm not mistaken, they create more torque

They do have better holding power due to the much higher clock rate in the servo trying it's best to hold where you tell it to hold.

I run a single hitec 985MG in my revo and it does just fine. Plenty fast and strong. Also pretty well sealed. A really good servo for $70.

I Put on a traxxas 2075 and it is working but it is making a humm sound??
