yes for sure take your chances with them, the 995mg servos, and I'm sure the 996's are the same, are- CAN NOT BEAT THE PRICE OF-servos lol. 208oz of torque at 6v, for basically $12 apeice, you will not ever find a better deal than that. the closest thing price wise is a hitec 645 wich is only like 140 or something and its around $30 for one...
I've bought several of the 995's and they kick butt.
 
I bought 995MG over a year ago for my jato for steering and it's held up just fine. Not bad for $20. It doesn't center real well and it overshoots a bit when you go full lock to full lock, but it's strong and pretty fast. It's stronger than the servo saver on the jato. With the nut cinched down, it will overpower the spring if you hold the wheels and turn the servo.

I should pick up a couple for my aftershock for steering... 400oz vs 160oz... tempting.
