the steering servo on my savage 25 does'ent work i had a look at it and the motor still works but one of the clogs has be worn away is it a good idea to put metal clogs in instead of the plastic ones or shell i justed buy a new servo.

I would just upgrade to a Ball bearing Metal geared servo with a High output torque rating

Yeah, you need a metal gear - high torque servo. I wouldn't even bother trying to switch out gears and rebuilding it. You will be better off buying a new one.

does anyone know if a Traxxas 2055 high torque steering servo work on a hpi savage 25?

It will work, but it is not really a very good servo, nor does it have metal gears.

I run the Hitec 5645mg digital high torque servo for my steering, it works great.

This is what I use on my savage Futaba S3305 Not real expensive and it works pretty fast and strong. Also ball bearings and metal gears.
