can't really figur out what servo to get for my revo
i don't wanna break the bank I'm looking at about 60 bucks cuz i need to get linkage and stuff trying to spend under 100 bucks to upgrade to single .

reason for wanting single servo is i wanna run the tekno bat box upgrade with 250cc basher tank. my os 30 is sucking the gas way to fast . out of the stock tank.

also i was wondering what torque servo to get or if i have one already that is powerful enouf i was thinking around a 80 torque. but don't really know. any info would be really nice

If I am not mistaken your 2 stock servos combined are 160 oz...or 80 oz a piece. I do not think that one will do it for you. I actually run two hitech 645s as upgrades...It is working out well for me...I have heard of folks running the hitech 645 as a single...So that is an option for you...Once you get up into the 945's the cost is a bit higher...I do not know anything about the other brand names or the costs so I will let a few of the more experienced fellows give you there input. Try a search for single steering servos and I am sure you will get a bunch of info...

All you realy need is no less than 125 oz of torque! just get a hitec 645 mg high torque $35.99 at tower hobbies. My brothers got one on his revo and it works great. I got one with 125 oz it was an airtronics 94360z and that thing was fast and tossed my wheels like rag dolls.
 
i had the hitec 965 on my revo... it burned up on me... standing still!! i had it about 3 months. i was using it, solid, running at a construction site, and while i was tuning the engine, it started smoking.

that runs about 180oz/in of torque, i wouldn't use anything less than that, personally.
 
I ran the 645MG in my 3.3 chassis revo with maxx sized wheels and tires and I thought the servo wasn't quite enough. It would turn, but it wouldn't hold the wheels when I was on power.

I now run the hitec 985MG. It's around $70 and it's sealed with o-rings so it is less susceptible to water damage. The 985MG has plenty of torque to snap the wheels back and forth and hold the line when on power.

You will also want to get the REVO HD Spring. It will allow the servo to get more of the power to the ground and make it hold better when on power.

I use the stock servo saver arm thing that has two sides on it on the revo. I just cut the other side off and it's held up fine for a few years that way. You can also use the nice heavy duty RED X servo horn that comes with the servo. It takes a little finagling to get it to line up right, but you will need to cut off 3 of the 4 horns so your left with just the one.

hmm changed my mind gonna just spend the cash and get the Hitec HS-5955TG i seen one in a truck today dam that thing is killer.
 
I just picked up two JR Z8550 servos for $60 a piece at my LHS. I went in asking for something around $50 for a buddy of mine for his savage and I wanted something stronger/quicker than the 645MG. I suggested the JR 650M. Well, the guy there knows me pretty well and has been a pretty good guy in general for me. He asked if I minded buying discontinued servos. I said it depends on the discount. Apparently, 50% off is my number.

My buddy needed one, but after him saying $60 a piece, I asked if I'd be overstepping my bounds by asking if he had more than one... he said heck no! I have two left and they are both yours if you want them. Now I have a spare 190oz/.15 sec sealed servo and my buddy is ecstatic. I guess it was my lucky day. Neither of us would spend $120 on a servo for anything. I had a hard time spending $70 on the 985MG...

He also said JR will honor the 3 year warranty and he gave me two receipts. One for me and one for my buddy in case either of us have problems.

Sorry, just thought I'd share my good fortune as it happens so rare and was servo related.
