Hi Guys

I've just replaced my stock 2055 steering servo with the Hi-Tech HS645MG. However, the servosaver doesn't fit as the collar is too slack. Is it safe to run without the servosaver, i.e. direct linkage, or is there a collar that will fit the stock saver and the new HS645MG servo?

Thanks in anticipation

Found a servosaver at my lhs - was rather hoping to just find the adaptor for a few pennies! Maybe a hole in the market!

The servo saver makes a BIG difference with the Maxx. I have tried them all, from the first generation SuperMaxx one, to their 4th generation now, of which I think is about the best, then the Pro-Line is about the next one. It is almost better to spend the money in a GOOD servo saver over the servo anymore. Sure the power you get out of a better servo will help, but if it won't turn the wheels, or it has such a lag to get the motion there you will tire of it in a hurry. Spend as much as you can afford on one, you won't be sorry.

Is it okie to put Hi-Tech HS645MG as servo throttle? Because I have no idea :) Newbie.

Any suggestion if i move the HS645MG to steering, and what servo should I get for the throttle? I have 2 extra JR Z270. Will it be good a throttle?

I was told I need a servo that has at least 80oz+ for the throttle.

I appreciate any suggestions. Not looking forward to spend much. I would say around 30 - 40 bucks.

Another question :D

Will HS645MG able to hold up proline 40 series tires?

The 645 works fine for steering and the 270's will work for throttle, but they may crap out on you in a short while due to the stress they get when using the brakes. It takes a lot to stop a maxx. I'm using a standard ball bearing futaba servo on my throttle and it works ok.

futaba servo ? May I know the model number? I just upgrade the radio to JR. Hopefully they are compatible.

Futaba S3004 only produce 56.9 oz. The guy that sold he his maxx told me I need 80oz + servo for best result. Any idea which servo that at least 80oz + with reasonable price?

JR Z590 has 85, costs $40, but didn't last me very long as a steering servo. It was all I had so I tried to use it. It only lasted a couple days before it started twitching all to hell.

With as well as the Futaba servo's are holding up for me, I'd suggest usning the Futaba S3305 . It's not the fastest (.2 seconds at 6V), but it has 124 oz in torque at 6V. That will definitly set the truck on it's roof.

I may buy a couple of those myself and keep the S3004's as backup.

Thanks!

I think I will keep the HS645MG as throttle and get a futaba S3305 as steering/brake.

Great forum ! Only second day here and got helpful advice :)

Another brilliant idea :) Thanks!

My Picco P2 .21 just arrived today. Can't wait to try it out.

Does anyone know where I can get trinity wheelie bar? I search at towers and hobbypeople. Both of them are out of stock and back order.

Yeah, that site is pretty good to get specs with. Everything in a nice clean table so you can see what has what. I just wish they would add a column in their table for $. Still, it's better than most other sites.
