do all servos go around equal in both directions. And is distance it travles the same on all of them. My problem is. I have a 1/8th scale buggy that is a little older I was resurrecting and I can't make the brakes work and the throttle work. I can get one are the other . The throttle will open all the way the brakes wont. If i get the brakes to work the throttle wont open all the way. Thanks for the help as always.

Sounds more like a EPA (end point adjustment) on your transmitter is off. Or do you have EPA?

If not, then you just need to get creative with the linkages. I'm pretty sure all servo's move 180 or so... but I've been wrong before.

i dont know how but i always keep a little more throttle than brake for my servo make sure you got you horn 50/50 and then your epa

unfortinatly it is at work. No EPA i have one but is set to zero are equal travel when i get my camera from work i will add it to the post. I am going to do one at a time get one right then work on the other to make sure it isnt binding thanks.

mine does this on my low end radio.. its like the servo thinks that center off to one side.. i can move my trim on my radio over and it will give the servo room to move back.. hope I'm explaining this well enough.. i just asumed it was the cheepo radio

You can try moving the linkages further out on the servo horn to get more throw. Just make sure the servo is centered before installing the horn..

i found the problem now to find the solution. When i put the brakes on the carb is fully closed and allows no more travel. This limits the amount of brakes i have. Now what do i do.

Inferno old turbo are dx havent really figured it out yet. I put a peice of fuel tubing on the outside part of the linkage. IT seemed to have fixed the problem tell you in a minute then I will get started on the next problem. Thanks for the help glad you guys are around to help me.

you should have a spring on the throttle linkage and free play on the brake linkage. you can pull up a few manuals like Losi and AE to get a few ideas on how your linkage should be set up. If your linkage is set up solid from Servo horn to carb lever, you should get a linkage kit from Losi or some other after market kit with sliders to mount on the servo horn.

To try to discribe the idea... ball cup at carb, stop collar about 1/2 inch from the ball cup, spring (1 inch long), slider (mounted to servo horn) short spring or piece of fuel tubing, second stop collar. center the servo and adjust the stop collars so the springs are nutral (none or very little tension). when you pull throttle on the radio the carb should open, when you push brakes, the carb should close and the inside spring should compress but not bottem out. Once you have that set you can work on the brake linkage so it works in the same way, although you don't need springs on the push side of the brake linkages.

Here's a good shot of my throttle linkage on my HPI Nitro MT. It's a rotory carb, but the spring is squeezed when the brakes are applied.

At the position in the pic, it's at nuetral. When I give it gas, the arm moves to the left and opens the carb. When I hit the brakes, the spring gets compressed and the wire running off to the left is connected to the brake arm with a slider.
